Steam Controller

Emulators and analogue input
The Steam Controller does not have proper support for ePSXe. Opening it outside of Steam and trying to set up the controller results in it taking keyboard inputs with some buttons not working properly as they engage right clicks, for example. Opening it inside Steam as a non-Steam game does exactly the same thing. Changing the desktop or ePSXe configuration to "Gamepad" results in the emulator's controller setup being totally unable to read any inputs. Using a community controller setup or changing the desktop configuration yourself so that the emulator reads every button as a different keyboard input does not work for the analogue sticks, which many PS1 games require.

There appears to be no proper support for this and I've been totally unable to get it to work with the analogue sticks, even if I change the configuration to keyboard keys. Either this needs to be fixed (i.e. the desktop gamepad configuration needs to actually work with XInput) or I'm completely missing something and someone here has a fix.

Just a guess, have you tried adding PSXe to steam library an running it from the BP mode?

I should've elaborated, but any attempts to run it as a non-steam game were through Big Picture.

ePSXe is one I cant get working either. It's unfortunate but the case. There are other emulators that do work for PSX so you should try those. Most emulators do work fine but a lot of it has to do with how the overlay is rendered or isnt depending on the emulator in question.
