You can do a "Desktop Configuration" and set every button to do what you want in the desktop and non-steam programs. It lets you set x-input controllers to buttons here, but for some reason, those x-input buttons are not sent to the desktop. Everything else gets sent correctly, just not gamepad buttons.
If that was fixed, then every game would work, even if you didn't add it to steam first. Hopefully they'll change that!
Yeah getting this thing to work is a dead end, i gave up and stole my nephews xbox controller.... shh dont tell them...
i've uninstal witcher and gog galaxy and i download witcher direct from web site without gog galaxy .
then it's works fine!
This is what worked for me:
Close everything. Open GOG Client. Go to TW3 - manage, and UNCHECK "game overlay" under the DLC section. What for the configuration to save and then you can go launch TW3 from BPM.
Apparently whatever that GOG overlay is was interfering with my steam BPM and the controller had stopped working properly. After TW3 had updated to ver 1.12 I couldn't use my save because the beads and hair dlc was not found for some reason. I had gone back to GOG to check off the DLC so it would redownload and I think that's when I checked "game overlay" as well and ruined everything.
Hope this helps someone!
I have also found that anything that runs on DX12 wont work at all either, that disappoints me since I now have 2-3 things I would like to run that use it. I think it's far past time for a service and not relying on the overlay, at least in the same way, like they do now.
Steam Controller works great with the game, though.
and with the witcher i have exactly the same issues as u guys. its a damn waste of money this controller, worst controller i ever used.
if u are thinking about buying it, just dont. get a 360 controller.
