Gyro Drift "Fix"
_____My kid really loves the "Gyro Always on" motion-control function but hates the drift that happens after a while. Here's the solution that I found works. Try this:
1. Under gyro settings, set SENSITIVITY to below default. (Set it to around the "N" in sensitivity.)
2. Under "Advanced," set the "minimum movement" a click or two from the left.
3. In game, set the sensitivity as high as you like to improve speed.
-->Cyn likes to use the thumb-pad for turning quickly and the gyro motion-control for fine aim.

Why does does this work? I'm hazarding to guess that the hardware's tuning isn't flawless. By DECREASING the sensitivity, you're making the software "ignore" the little innacuracies of the gyro. I hope this helps.

Easy fix if it's already set to always on is to just lay it down on a flat surface for a few seconds.

Another "fix" is to set it always on and put it on a flat surface. The gyro then calibrates itself, and when it stops moving, it's calibrated...

Another fix is to go into the settings in big picture mode, then add/test under "controller" and then scroll down to the steam controller and hit calibrate

_____Thanks for the feedback! I'll pass this on to Cyn the next time the controller gives her grief. But there goes the hope that there is not a next time. There have been almost no issues this time around. With all of these fixes, this thing has to stay workable and very playable. This should work until there's a permanent firmware fix or something.

Another fix is to put controller still, gyro will be recalibrated either it's always on or it's not, no matter.
If you set gyro activation on "right pad touch" it eventually will fail much, Much less! Since she use touchpad to wonder around, it won't be a big deal to manage it in that mode.

Actually, setting steam controller sensitivity max and game sensativity lower is better.

The controller picks up the tiniest movements, and this way little tiny movements won't be "lost" in the big scheme of things.
