Analogue stick to D-pad converter
Has anyone tried this out?
http://www.shapeways.com/product/HAX3GLFSM/steam-controller-d-pad-for-analog-stick?optionId=59053152

Still doesn't look like a real D-pad, more like a flat analogue stick

Well I obviously don't share that opinion

That's because it IS for the analog stick. You're sitll not getting the "standard" D-pad out of this.

I don't get why you'd want it anyway, the analog stick with haptics turned on to max, and a bit of tweaking can actually act like a great D-pad by itself if you're that bothered with the left trackpad D-pad functionality...

Or you can, you know, tweak the left trackpad a bit and get it to your liking. Better than any "real" D-pad i ever tried when i set it up just right...

Anyway, if you have 10 bucks to spare, buy it. I doubt it'll work "well" but you can certainly try it out and see for yourself if you like it better i guess...

Yes, I understand it goes where the analogue stick is, that's why I like it.

I understand that, which is why I wrote

Tried it, don't like it

Shipping more than doubles the cost of it

The whole point of this thread is to see what others have to say about it before I try it out. I like to do my homework before I start giving someone my money

I'm not trying to be rude here but there isn't a single thing you've said that I found helpful. I've had the Steam Controller for months now, I know how to use it. I prefer an actual D-pad and want to know if anyone in the forum has tried the product I posted in my OP

Well I'd prefer to hear from someone that has actually used it which is why my OP says
Has anyone tried this out?

Not sure why you're wasting your time on this thread

$10 for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cap? (and it's still gonna rotates the same way as stick, because it will remain the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stick). NEVAH.
Whoever you are reading this, you will regret the untested ♥♥♥♥, your waste of money that should be as cheap as pen, so to speak.
I will never let me fool that way, c'mon plastic cap 3d printed! for a 1/5 of controller such complex, beautiful thing that really costs it's money price!
Do you have easy money in your life? Still learning in school? Can't you differ the real value of things?
Just haven't anything to add to this. Except...
Go for it only if you have an ill passion for it.:steamfacepalm:

Such a wonderful world! Smart people selling simple shaped 3D printed plastic that not needed hard engineering, debugging and appropriate software development will get so much money... Jesus, in equation to this SC should cost about $800. Just to be fair.
And someone gonna feed them, I bet. And I want to see that heroes.
