Scroll Wheel Input doesn't work
I have been trying to bind my left pad or stick to work like a Scroll Wheel to select skills between 1 to 5.

Unfortunately this won't work for some reason. The wheel works properly out of the games (in a note pad or Word document, for example).

Can Valve please look a fix to this issue? This has to be one of the top change request you have in your list, i am pretty sure, and it is one of the most useful things we can do in a game.

It is still in development? I realized almos every option in the Controller Configuration screen has a description, but on the Scroll Wheel you only have "Scroll_wheel_list_1_binding_Description".

????

Have you binded the CW CCW actions for mouse wheel UP and DOWN?
Just. Do. It.

Yes, i also tried that, no success. At first i thought it was a problem with Darkest Dungeon but i tried also with Counter Strike : Global Offensive, which is a Full Compatible game with In-Game support exclusively for Steam Controller.

It didn't work either. I tried to make a "Weapon selection Wheel" but it won't work. I assigned Primary Weapon to Scroll Wheel List 1, Secondary Weapon to Scroll Wheel List 2, Grenade to 3, etc...

When i "scroll" in the game, nothing happens. Yes... people often says "Just use Touch Region", but NO... i paid for a product and I WANT IT TO WORK AS EXPECTED. I want to make use of the wheel, JUST BECAUSE I SAY SO.

I haven't found a "KNOWN ISSUE" for this, is not included in FAQ or even on the internet... WHY? Am i really the ONLY ONE in the entire world with this problem? Is my controller damaged? Can anyone confirm this?

I got scroll wheel to work in a bunch of games. Some of them take it as is and some required me to bind the wheel to action. Even list wrapper function was okay. I will check SC:GO, since you've mentioned it, on my machine later for you.

CS:GO works with CW and CCW bindings both in moded official and usual configs.

However it turned out that this is the only game that said "You can't save configs, be my Guest" to me, when I'm trying to save moded official cfg. Valves, valves :steamfacepalm::happy_creep: SC support for games so supportive ATM :)

I have tried it in Oblivion, not recently, though, and it never worked. I think it has to do with how long the button is or is not being held down. That is my working theory as of right now. We need a slider so we can set it to hold the button for a half second.

When you say "works with CW ando CWW bindings" What do you mean? Because normal scroll CW and CWW works OK. What i want to do is to assign keyboard Keys 1-5 to the wheel so i can select different items/skills/weapons.

@Consona Yeah, I too had a bit of a time understanding that statement. Maybe try a rephrase?:steammocking:

@Darth Vladi I feel ya there brother. I certainly get what you are saying and I have confirmed it is still an issue for sure. It essentially replaces touch menu, when it works, which is disturbingly broken still and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future. I just want to switch spells round robin style, how hard do I have to try to do this?! :steamsad:

Okay. Set your Clockwise and Counterclockwise actions to mouse wheel up and down, then go and assgn your 1 to 5 keys to the list.
IKR, it's E.T. logic to me, but it works without conflicts all of the sudden.

And I did that specific in SC:GO too, just before I wrote the post. It rotates the actual list.
Respond?

OK. I am pretty sure I already have tried this, but I will double check it later after the job.

Any news on this? Anyone?

I'm having the same set of issues. Scroll lists work fine in desktop, but won't work in darkest dungeon, even if I bind the normal scroll to do something. There is an interesting hitch that I've noticed, however.

When I go to check the scroll list bindings, I will often find that the displayed name is the same, but when I go into it, the key is no longer selected.

That feature is pretty broken. Use Touch menu if you can, otherwise, nothing can be done till Valve fixes it. I still test it periodically though so here's hoping.

I don't understand how hard it is to make a fix... it will take them like 1 day or 2.

I use joystick for mouse scroll wheel and only way it is working properly is binding it for circular movements.
(Left trackpad is much better for WASD..... like Valve originally intended)
