How to add Steam Controllers in the new Steam Big Picture UI.

Step 1: Connect your Dongle to your computer WITH Steam open.
Step 2: Open the "controllers" section of your steam settings
Step 3: Put your controller in Reciever Pairing mode by pressing Steam + X on the controller.
Step 4: press "Pair steam controller"
Step 5: Connect!

Thank you. This was the only guide I could find that actually resolved the problem.
Side Note: I absolutely hate the new big-picture mode.
