Stalker clear sky/ Steam controller question

Hello all! I have been able to get my steam controller to work with every game I've tried with it the last few years. The thing is I think most of those games had at least partial controller support but Stalker clear sky doesn't list any controller support. So my question is will I be able to make the classic wasd /keyboard template and It'll work fine after I customize it? This has been my last resort with some KB/M only games and it's never let me down. Any replies welcome and I'm tired so I may be worrying for nothing.

NM. steam input says it can work with any controller and many games .

Well I got the game and not only does my steam controller control anything, I set the resolution to 1440p and now the cursor doesn't go down enough to hit use to re set to 1080p to get the cursor working so it travels fully across the screen. I'll tr4y some stuff but I don't think I can apply windowed mode to figure some thing out.

I have used steam input and generic input.I've tried a few profiles including the wasd mouse preset and the controller doesn't do any thing at all.Ideas are appreciated. I've never had this problem in years as I don't ask for help much here. I've tried re starting steam and my windows 10 desktop with more than adequate hardware. In BPM the left stick can pick the game but once the game launches it's a separate window and if I try to go to the controller adjustment screen in steam it just shows the icon and does nothing but I can click on the game on the taskbar and it pops right up with the mouse.
The steam controller works great with other games. I just re checked 3 games.

Did you ever get it to work? I used to play it with a PS4 controller (I finished the first game with a controller) without any problems and had played 37 hours, but when Steam started with the forced input thing, it broke the controlls. Now, the character randomally drop his gun when you walk and you can't strife. Several buttons just don't work anymore.
Btw, sometimes you have to go into Combability Mode and change to Admin for controllers to work.
