Steam Controller

Should I use Steam support for my controller or not if not needed?
I like to use the DS4 gamepad, especially when playing fighting games, but I've a doubt. Will I get more input delat if I play using the PS4 Controller Support of Steam, or if I play using external resources like DS4Windows?

It doesn't make a difference.

The only difference it makes is, if you enable support, then you can configure the bindings on a per game basis from steam. Even keyboard and mouse for games that don't support it.
Otherwise, you'll get xinput from DS4Windows, and if it can change bindings, you'll have to do it from that program.

It's literally whatever suits you.

You'll end up doing both probably because steam controller support only works in steam, for games run by steam. So unless you import a game in your steam library, the game will default to DS4Windows...

If you don't want to configure anything and the game recognizes the controller fine, don't use Steam Input.

it adds a very negligible amount of latency
