Wait, I'm confused, why can't you push the button thingy that is meant for pushing the batteries out?

Certain rechargeables are JUST slightly bigger (not enough that you can tell) but they get so jammed that the latch won't push them out. I had this happen and had to use a screwdriver to pry them out.

Personally, I just push the batteries out as far as I can, then use a single prong on a pair of tweezers to pry the batteries out by the corner. I haven't had much trouble doing it that way.

I have not. But I suggest you to make a fresh thread about your subject: more chances to hit attention of such specific users, than refreshing a "graveyard".

I'm gonna refresh this for anyone googling this,
the Ikea rechargeable batteries (2450 mAh Ladda AA) do fit, but they sometimes get stuck, instead of trying to pry them out, i tried rotating the battery (while stuck) a bit and trying pushing the eject button multiple times, if it didn't fully get out, just put it back in and try again, worked so far.

I'm glad there is an updated help for this matter

If you have the dexterity , you can place thick tapes on the levers that push the batteries out.

I placed a short bit of doublesided tapes inside both levers so the batteries will be puhed slighty more outside when pushing the levers.

You can experiment with 1 layer 2 layers and so on until you have a thick enough buffer to push the batteries further out.
Oh and dont remove the thin insulation on the doublesided tape or you batteries will get sticky; :)

BTW
You can wrap a strip of cloth or paper around batteries, so you can pull it out of the socket when you push the levers, simultaneously.
