Turning haptics off
Hey!

I use my joystick as a D-Pad (in almost every game) and I don't see an option to turn off haptics. I also still miss the option to turn off haptics when in Big Picture.

Haptics hurt my thimbs, and I can't really use my controller in Big Picture, meaning I'm not able to set the configuration really. I can't use mouse most of the time, because it just gives a "nope" sound and doesn't care if I click with my mouse.

But my main problem is that I don't find any way to turn off haptics. If there is no such options, there should be. A global haptics off switch would be really great, I said this already, but still nothing.

Haptics on stick as a D-Pad - bug.
Valve should have at least 1 real human tester in their staff, because this bug is so obvious and still haven't been fixed yet.
Global haptics control sounds good.

Sorry to rez an old thread, but this came at the top of the Google results and felt it warranted an update.

To turn off haptics for D-Pad on the Analog Stick, you have to select each button on the UI that appears in the middle (the 4 directional arrows) and edit the Activators.

(As of the version available 1/1/2017)

1. Go to Controller Configuration on the main menu
2. Highlight the Analog Stick bindings and press (A) on the controller
3. Highlight a directional arrow in the central UI and press (A) on the controller
4. Press (Back) on the controller to Show Activators
5. Press (Right) on the controller twice to select Haptics Intensity (Note: By default the Regular Press activator tab should be highlighted, if not select the tab)
6. Press (A) on the controller and highlight your preferred intensity (Off in this case) using the Analog Stick and press (A) on the controller to confirm the selection
7. Press (B) on the controller to return
8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 for each remaining arrow

Yes I know that already.

On a related note tho, in Big Picture mode, for the joystick I can't disable haptics, there is no option like that anywhere. Is the only way to rebind the whole thing? I don't wanna do that...

And yes, I turned off haptics globally under controller options (as soon as I found that option... I'm really happy they did it, since I asked for it for half a year now).
