Shift your Joystick mode into another similar Joystick mode with different outer ring bindings?
However, I'm proposing every ring should be as a separate input style. Can be useful with touchpads, f.e., inner as mouse while outer as D-pad. I already have something similar in SC:GO: I've huge deadzone at R-TPad mapped as D-Pad with 1234 (weapons) on touch, and gyro activated on R-TPad touch [I'm holding in the center to aim with gyro and swipe to reach D-Pad keys on edges]. Alternative build has reload, quick last weapon switch and switch weapons forward and backward. Can you imagine how good swipe for reload feels?? :)
There is already an option for a inner ring binding its called "Outer Ring Binding Invert: If set, the binding will be sent when inside the radius instead of outside. For example, walk or sneak could be sent when inside a certain zone."
What I would like is 3 circles. From the center to the 1st circle is your inner ring binding, from the 1st to the 2nd circle is the normal joystick area with no binding, and from the 2nd to the 3rd circle is the outer ring binding.
This may be kind of cramped for the joystick as it has a fairly small travel area, but there is definitely enough room on the large track pads for 3 circels. And really I know of several games where the analogue joystick controls a large range of incremental speeds depending on how far it is pressed. I don't think inner and outer ring bindings is being excessive, if anything it may still be too few to emulate true analog control.
Start-press for inner binding and release-press for outer binding.
