Steam Controller

Help, new controller and gyro not working!
I ordered my steam controller from Amazon and it arrived today. I was pretty excited to get the gyro controls going for Overwatch just like I used to in splatoon.
I've tried it in a few different fps games, but I can't seem to get gyro controls to respond. I've also tried it in the built button tester.
I have tried community controls in Overwatch, desktop mode and Portal 2. I have used activators, and also changed the settings to always on.
Im pretty sure I have the latest firmware (Feb 2016). I'm now thinking I have a faulty controller, but a google search doesn't seem to find this as a common issue.

Does anyone have any advice?

I thought the latest firmware was in June, but maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Firmware is from FEB 2016, Dongle Firmware is September 2015.

Try doing the calibration first. I would recommend setting the gyro on a mouse for the desktop config and always on just to test it and make sure that the hardware is fine. I don't play Overwatch so I can't be specific there personally, but I can say that some game do and some do not allow mouse and gamepad at the same time so it may be rejecting one in favor of the other. Portal 2, on the other hand, has a recommended config where it uses gyros. If that is activated and the gyros won't work while you are touching the right pad, this is the default for that config, then there very well may be something wrong.

Send steam a CONSTRUCTIVE question in a email with this onlyonthursdays.. Just edit for format and politely tell them..

Thanks, I have performed the calibration. I have also tried it in Portal 2 - with the built in config and also a community config, and tried it with gyro always on.

I'm thinking now that it is a hardware issue. Currently working through with steam support at the moment.
