Advanced Question: Output joystick and WASD simultaneously
Been using steam controller for years and I just found it's been discontinued? So sad.

Anyway, I love setting up custom advanced setups that meet my needs so here's a challenge I want to solve for Red Dead Redemption 2 while playing in VR:

How can I use the left joystick to send joystick signals on the vertical axis while simultaneously sending A/D signals on the horizontal axis? The signals must be able to overlap. (and yes, I already tested and RDR2 accepts this hybrid input)

Set the joststick as a DPAD (WASD).
Go to "D" -> show activators -> add activator-> select RightSTick-right (you can only select this with the controllerjoystick or the cursorbuttons) , the mouse will only select the whole joystick for some reason.
Same with the other 3 buttons.

You will now have overlapped the WASD with the joystick.

But you will only have digital outputs WASD and maximum joystick outputs (analog max) .

Maybe there is a more elegant solution but this is the easiest.

Thanks so much! I knew posting this question someone would share some knowledge I didn't have of the steam controller :) Specifically, being able to select joystick direction by using the joystick. I had always used the mouse to select the controller graphic and as you pointed out it only selects joytsick button, not a joystick direction.

I spend hours just setting up controller schemes and it's a game in itself. They need "Steam Controller: The Game", lol!

Also you're explanation shows a detailed understanding of how the controller works. You know you're stuff!
