Buttons L1, L2, R1 & R2 issue

ISSUE
When playing any game, the buttons L1, L2, R1 & R2 do do not follow the actions the should, usually L1 does what L2 should do an the other way around, and the same for R1 and R2. If I try to use the controller configuration on Big Picture and to any modification, this doe not change anything, even if I literally switch them. It might be because they are not called L1 etc. but LB, LT and so on, as for the x-box type. It is very weird.

Pick a game, any game, a free game or a Valve game. Browse your controller configs in Big Picture mode, highlight your config and look at the bottom of the screen for an option to copy/share to clipboard. Then paste it here.

My first thought is that it's not configured properly in the settings, but we don't even know if you really have an official PS3 or knockoff controller.

Also keeping this in mind. It SHOULDN'T affect Steam, but you never know at this point with OS support dropping in a month.

Ok, I have been able to access the joy.cpl,
and you are right, the buttons are wrong, R2 and L2 are 56 and, while L1 and R1 are the z axis. I have no idea how this got moficied, but at the same time I have no idea how to change it myself. Does anybody know how to do it?
