I'm going to ignore this request, because one of the things the Steam Controller does best is aiming in shooters. IMO, it's got a learning curve, but once you get past that, it is just as fast and accurate as a mouse for aiming. Combining the touchpad with gyro is a literal game changer when it comes to controlling shooters with a gamepad.
Portal 2
Saints Row the Third
Borderlands 2 (or any Borderlands game)
Fallout: New Vegas
Red Faction Guerilla Re-Mars-tered
If you're adamant about not playing a shooter with a controller, then:
Firewatch
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Batman: Arkham Knight
Or you could go with almost any other game you'd want to play with a controller. Platformers, beat-em-ups, LEGO games, just about anything. If it would play well with an Xbox controller, it most likely will play well with the SC.
Or you could control anything that uses mouse input. A deck building game like Guild of Dungeoneering or Slay the Spire. A match 3 game like Puzzle Quest or Bejeweled. Dating sims, point-and-click adventure games, turn based strategy, PC RPGs, clicker games....
The SC is a very versatile controller that can play a lot of different types of games.
No. It's not. Not even close. But it's MUCH better than other controllers. And yes, I am using touchpad + gyro as my frame of reference.
I don't care if it is for you. For me it is. When I play any FPS with my SC, I play just as well as I do with mouse.
Actually, gyro on its own is VERY close to if not matching desktop mouse performance.
Over in the gyro gaming discord we've been pushing aim lab scores, gyro only (no touch pad or sticks or desktop mouse). Our grid shot scores are just shy of 90k, which is easily in the range that fps pro's usually score in grid shot (and 66-67k is the median score, which means that a lot of us are surpassing what the average desktop mouse user can do).
Of course, aim labs isnt an actual game... but devoid of all other variables (movement, weapon load out, power ups, class abilities, etc) it is a rather reasonable test of a devices ability to aim. The gyro IS a mouse, just controlled through rotation instead of translation.

Adding to wish list now.
For Strategy?
- Punch Club
- Plants Vs Zombies
For Puzzles?- World of Goo
- Prison Architect
For Combat? One Finger Death Punch. It's $1 or $2, for 1 or 2. Easy to play with SC.
For Story?
There is a reason that some expensive professional presenters for pc have an inbuilt gyro.
It is pretty much an airmouse that can be used without needing a desk or any other surface.
Yep you are the owner of a professional presenter now and can use it for desktop navigation.
If you want to try the gyro in a safe stressfree environment i would recommend to start with a point and click adventure game

After that a lightgungame would be the next step

(set the trackpad and gyro as mouse to have the highest precision)
The second one is technically a shooter (railshooter) but it might give you an idea why we SC users recommend using gyro.
*technically, No Man's Sky may not count in this regard.
