Steam Controller

Dear Steam, Gyro drift
Dear Steam Staff, After much research I have found that the gyro drift problem is common and known to many users. After trying several attempts and reading the most unlikely solutions around the forums I concluded that this problem occurs only with the gyroscope in mouse mode. It's really frustrating. Could you please solve it?

You just need to set the controller down on a level surface for a few seconds and it will calibrate itself. If it goes out of calibration quickly, then your controller might be worn out. I find new controllers keep their calibration for a long time, whereas the controller I have had for 5 years and dropped many times is not able to stay calibrated for very long.

I just found out that the only game that bores me with drifting is Watch Dogs 2:steamsad:

Yeah if you solve the drift problem it would make a lot of people happy, unfortunately gravity causes it and its not exclusive to the steam controller. the fix is to set the gyro to always on and sit it on a flat surface and it filters them out, you can use an action set and toggle that action set on when you need to have it always on.

The gyro doesn't have to be on to calibrate.

Instead of going for unlikely solutions, have you tried... manually recalibrating the controller in Controller Settings?
Or perhaps reduce the Smoothing in Mouse settings? There's a clear difference between drift and overfiltering, both of which are not problems "Steam" can solve for you.

And yes, i tried to recalibrate through the wizard and i also changed my old steam controller with a brand new one that i kept in reserve.
I haven't tried reducing the smoothing setting. Maybe I will.
I am hoping for the new steam controller v 3
