Steam Controller

Steam Controller

Not working properly on Android?
Can you even use it on Android? Steam Link doesn't count, that's just playing your PC with a delay on android screen.

I tried plugging it to the phone via usb, I get the message that keyboard and mouse is plugged, but it also instantly says it's unplugged, going into a loop. Can't do anything.

I do the same on another phone, it works but only for 5 seconds, then it unplugs itself for a brief moment, then goes back on again, repeat.
Tried using different cables, no effect.

I did the same with (borrowed) PS4 controller, works perfectly, so maybe my SC is defective?

I also tried bluetooth but I think that's steam link only.

You can connect via Bluetooth, but all it does is act like a mouse. If you want to game on Android you'll need a different controller.

The Steam Controller is not a PS4 controller. It's designed to work with Steam, but if you're not using Steam on your Android, it will behave like a keyboard and mouse. Mileage will vary between Android devices.

Sadly, the SC is too complex to work with simple android drivers,
It barely works on PC without steam running in the background (lizard mode = mkb only).

Supposedly android v 11 has some SC support when connected via cable.

Don`t know how good that is though.

Would be great if i could use it on android tv with the awesome touch keyboard for netflix/youtube and gyro support for games and other apps.
I really dont like the tv remotes with their limitations of physical buttons or the android controllers which are twinstick with no gyro or other QOL things like dual stage triggers.
