Steam Controller

Steam Controller

Disable Xbox Controller
I have both a Steam Controller and an Xbox 360 Controller, I use the xbox controller for non steam games but I still leave it plugged in when I play steam. I used to have the xbox controller deregistered from the account so it wouldn't override my UI in games like Team Fortress 2 but recently it has been re-registering by itself as soon as I deregister it.

Is there a way to keep steam from recognising the xbox controller, still detect the xinputs of the steam controller, and leave the xbox controller plugged in? Any game specific commands or steam config edits?

"problems using multiple controlllers" is a possible solution
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second possible solution is to deactivate Xbox Controller support
Controllersettings -> uncheck xbox controller support.

The first one is gamespecific the second is global.

(You also have a third option as you can deactivate the xbox 360 in the windows devicemanager which would require a restart everytime you activate or deactivate)

I don't think registering/deregistering is usefull in your case as it is only there to connect the gameprofiles and buttonlayout to a specific controller.

Make sure Steam Controller and XBox Controller are on and connected
Goto Steam Library
Goto Game you want to play
Goto Edit Steam Controller Configuration
Select Switch Controller
Change Controller Grouping to the order you want them to be in for this game (it should remember this everytime you play)
Global Settings IDK how to do..

You can also do all this from within BPM/Steam Controller overlay while playing a game...So if you forget to set it you can still do it within a game without bailing out of your game

Need help, I want Xbox controller support removed from my steam,
Cause I want to use my DualSense Edge controller and not having it switching between PlayStation and Xbox because of Steam's stupid new big picture UI
