How to completely disable Dualshock 4 integration with new Steam update?
I use DS4Windows with lots of macros bound to PS Guide button as modifier. Now that Valve extended Steam Controller capabilities to Dualshock 4 every time I press the Guide button Steam doesn't let DS4Windows do its job and just steals focus. For example I want to increase volume when I am watching a movie on my couch (I use DS4 as a remote in this case) with my DS4Windows macro PS+Up. With today's update instead of having my volume raised all I get is a Steam client window on top of my video player. This is extremely annoying, why is there not a way to turn off Steam/BP activation with controllers?

I am a game developer and have steam installed on my PC for playing games, but need the controller to be used by my game app I'm developing.

I now have to close steam in order to use my PS4 controller on my PC properly. This is silly. I should be able to just disable Steam from having anything to do with controllers on my PC. Is there any other way to do this other than closing Steam?
the only way i have seen that allows you to do somthing simillar to this is using a third party app like input mapper, this means that all aplications respond to input if applicable will you are tabbed into them. hope this helps.
some things to note with input mapper specficly if you are going to use it, it will not take controll of your controller if you dont launch it at start up or close all other programs first, im pretty sure there is an option in settings that does this for you, secondly if you use teamspeak 3 there is an option under tools/options/hotkeys in the bottom right, set the drop box to keyboard and mouse only, this removes alot of issues that ts3 creates.

In Big Picture mode, go to settings, controller settings and disable PS4 configuration support.
