Switch pro controller detected by steam as xbox one controller
so recently i started using a switch pro controller which was working fine in the beginning, but all of the sudden steam started to recognize the controller as xbox one controller and now its not working at all with steam.

I've tried uninstalling the controller from my system and using it again but same issue still happens.

I'm glad I found this thread. I recently bought a relatively new 3rd party controller that most closely fits the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. It is unfortunate though because it only recognizes it as a Xbox controller, which means it cannot use the gyro it has. If a mod could fix this issue, that would be very helpful.

Are you booting up into Switch mode? I'm not sure of the button combination, but I think you need to hold Y when you press Start to power it on.

I cannot seem to connect to any computer via switch mode. i can easily connect via ximput on windows, and a+start bluetooth via apple devices, but the switch mode seems to only connect to the switch

edit: if I connect to the computer using a usb cable after attempting to sync to switch mode, it will recognize it as a pro controller, however none of the buttons work and setting up desktop configuration will ask to turn on pro controller support, regardless of whether or not the pro controller support function is enabled or not.

I'm having no problems connecting my NES30 Pro in Switch mode to my PC via Bluetooth, so I'm not sure what to tell you (mine is an older model that does not have gyro). I don't own a SN30 Pro+ to test with.

You might have better luck asking users on www.reddit.com/r/8bitdo/ for help.

I'm having the same problem - my generic Switch Pro Controller gets recognized as an Xbox controller so I can't do the A for B swap.
Can you help??

It's this model:

Also problems here. Via cable recognized as a 360 controller and with bluetooth generic gamepad.

Hi Mikela, facing similar issues here. I'm using a 3rd party switch controller which has motion control capabilities, but steam is recognizing it as an xbox 360 controller. Below is a link to the 3rd party controller on Amazon. Could you update my profile so my 3rd party controller is seen as a switch pro controller with motion control?

Hey, I just bought a Switch third party wireless pro controller and i'm having the same problem. It is coming up as a 360 controller in the settings via wired connection. Can you add a Steam Input to recognize my controller, like you did for the original poster?

The controller I purchased is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WMTN3Y8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Additionally I am unable to connect it wirelessly to my win 10 PC. Do I need any extra hardware to connect it? Right now bluetooth sees the controller but I can not use it wirelessly. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Have the PowerA controllers been added to the steam input? My computer is having trouble recognizing the correct button input in Fortnite
