"Target" button like the hori fps controller on regular ps4 controller?
Is it possible to program a button like this that for those who don't know lowers your sensitivity when hold so you can perfectly pin point the aim dot on target?

Context: I have a ds4 controller with the collective minds fps dominator on PC, and i want to map this target feature to one of the pads preferably or to a trigger (R2) seeying i am going to shoot with R1 (bumper). This for games such as Fortnite, COD,....

ps: here's a link that will explain the controller i am referring to https://www.gamingcontrollersforyou.com/reviews/hori-pad-fps-plus-review

You can do this with trigger dampening. Mode shifting should also work if you don't want it on your triggers. .

Just spend time naking a custom config for your controller in Steam Input. Could try to walk you through it if you like.

Go to Big Picture > Settings > Controller Settings and make sure your controller is listed and is registered to your Steam account .

Enable "PS4 configs"

Go to Library

Select game.

Select Controller Options and set "Force On"

Select Configure Controller and use mode shift to set slower mouse sensitivity to right stick for slower mouse look/caamera when pressing a button of your choosing. If left trigger is aim lb may be easiest to use for switching to fine aim.

You will also need to edit the config appropriately so that the original mapping for lb is triggered on release so you do not get two things happening at same time.

This is just one example of the many possible ways to use Steam Input to get controller to do what you want.

No worries. Steam Input is awesome when it works but it really is buggy. That why game devs just dont spend time with fancy pants configs using full Steam Input capabilities.which is very sad

Most- games and gamers just use basic configs but i like tweaking and Steam Input is definitely for tweakers.

I already use my pads (fps dominator) in Rocket League (RL) for a certain jumps using shortcuts (no hacking) but theres something wrong with my other pad that is left unbinded but when i do use it, it does 3 to 1 things at a time in the game so thats (as you said) where it doesnt seem to work lmao....

hopefully other games will work idk

When you go to assign movement to the right pad you can go to advanced settings, and in that tab you can choose to activate an option called trigger dampening. You can make sure it works on one, or both triggers, as well as make it so it only works when doing a partial or full press IIRC. A mode shift can by applied to any button, and is on the main screen when assigning a button.

Ffs guys i just realised fortnite (wich is the main game i wonna use this feature for) runs horribly with the strikepack that i use.... i'm screwed until they optimise the game to work with steam or something.... ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unlucky

Does this ALSO work for a trigger? wonna shoot with R1 and activate it with R2; the more i press it the more it slow down the sensitvity? If possible i also shoot on R2 .....

You have to configure it, but yes. Use mode shift, or trigger dampening options in the configuration screen. Trigger dampening is in the advanced options menu I think.

ETA: Exept for the increased dampening as you pull the trigger. You can have the trigger fire, and dampen at the same time though.
