Switch Pro Controller Problems: buttons activate keyboard commands

Hey all,

I've seen others use switch controllers so I'm determined to use one. When it's connected the buttons trigger keyboard buttons like space and enter, the joysticks also control the cursor and scroll bar. I can't seem to find a way to turn it off and use it as a normal gamepad. Does anyone have any help with this, thanks!

Yes, that's what it's supposed to do. You didn't say where this happens. If it's in desktop then yes, you can control your desktop with it. If it's in game, you need to switch a template to a gamepad profile, that's all.

I've been looking in the controller settings for a template switch but I can't find it? Could you point me in the right direction?

When you're in game, bring up the overlay. On SC that's the guide button. It's probably something simmilar on the switch. Then open controller configuration. That will open up the currently loaded configuration for this game. There you can manually bind each button to whatever you like or search through community made profiles and templates. There will be a prompt at the bottom of that screen, don't know which one it'll be for Switch, but press that button (x or something) and you'll see that other screen. Then just browse through whatever you want and apply when you're done.

With your guidence I ended up figuring it out, I wasn't in big picture mode so it wasn't allowing me to assign controls, that was a mess. Seems they could've made it a lot easier, oh well. Thanks!
