2. Even if someone wanted to go with a dual analog stick controller, there are better choices than getting an Xbox controller.
Presumably it's expensive because Valve hasn't made efforts to make it cheaper. Their entire strategy with the SC is confusing. They haven't marketed it well, availability is inconsistent, and it feels like Valve forgets about it for weeks or months at a time.
Which is a shame, because the controller is truly amazing. I've been playing Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered with it, and it feels amazing to control it with the SC. I've played the game previously with an Xbox 360 controller, and that really only works for the driving portions. Shooting is so poor with controller that I've always gone back to mouse & keyboard, and just lived with being the worst driver on Mars. Now everything works. I'm fast and accurate when shooting, and I've got great control over driving (I'm still not a good driver, but it's not because of the controls now, so I'm not the worst driver.)
