How do i update the firmware?
Go to big picture mode, controller settings, it should be there somewhere if it doesn't automatically prompt you to update it. I know you don't have a dongle, but in future too, always update wired, less hassle that way (although you can update it wireless).
Be warned though, this update is still very much beta and kinda wonky, so don't be surprised if you brick your controller if the update fails. Don't worry though, it's nothing irreversible or permanent, if it fails and stops working, and steam won't revert the firmware, search the discussions, there's a thread somewhere that explains how to fix it.
If you can't find it, post here, someone will probably know where that thread is, and what to do exactly. There's also controller unbricking guide in the guides section.
