Touch Pad wear and tear
I just recently ordered the steam controller and am waiting for it to arrive. I was doing some digging and noticed that there are touchpad skins for the touchpads. Should I buy one? How is the wear and tear without the touchpad skin?

Under constant use, the touchpad will inevitably wears a bit but the sensitivity and precision remains he same. I recommend buying the touchpad skin if you want.

yeah, typically you won't be able to notice it much till after about a year. The texture does wear and change even though the precision never changes. I too HIGHLY recommend colored controllers touch protect vinyl pad protectors. Every SC I have has them installed and they are fantastic. The only real decision is which pattern to buy. I prefer the HEX pattern but it has much greater friction than the carbon fiber, which is the smoothest I have tried so far. It's all up to preference at that point. They come in packs of two, one for each pad, but you can also just install one to the right pad since that's the one that gets all the mouse and joystick use so it will be the one to wear and you can double the lifespan without needing to order more.
