Steam Controller

[Resolved] How to detect the Steam controller as an xbox pad on non-stam game? (and not as a keyboard)
I'd like to play non-steam games that seem to only support xbox 360 controllers with my Steam controller.

Currently, the controller is used as a keyboard (start button = enter...) which isn't what I want since my friend need to play the game as player 1 with the keyboard, and me as P2 with the Steam Controller, the game only support one player on keyboard so bnding keyboard keys to the controller is not an option.

Just to add, after you add the game to steam, you need to edit the controller configuration and pick a gamepad template that sets the SC as an xinput device.

I will agree. Generally, nearly everything works great when added to Steam, I use it all the time. That having been said, there are fringe cases. GloSC is a good solution for those problem apps but even so, should be used only if you need it.

I've already added the game to Steam, and edited the controller configuration, but every time it doesn't work and end up acting just like a binding of the keyboard's keys so the second player can't use the keyboard.

The Adventure Pals. I tried GloSC but got I get the VIGem error on the latest version (tried Steam and Steam beta, same error for both version).

What version of the game do you have, if not the Steam version?

Gog

Did you install it with GOG Galaxy? Does that have it's own overlay these days? That could be interfering with the Steam Overlay.

I launch it through Steam, so Galaxy isn't involved.

I think I found the solution. Using two Steam controllers did the trick so it looks like it's impossible to play with one player with a controller and the second one with a keyboard (singleplayer with keyboard works fine though)...

This is weird but I think it comes from the game itself and not Steam.

Then it's definitely thr game. Some games don't support mixing input.

Hey, I know I'm late to the party but I just found a software called reWASD. With that you can configure your steam controller as a xbox controller and you don't have to have steam running.
I'm currently trying it out (it has a short trial time after that it costs once 6€) and so far I like it.
