Just to add, after you add the game to steam, you need to edit the controller configuration and pick a gamepad template that sets the SC as an xinput device.
I think I found the solution. Using two Steam controllers did the trick so it looks like it's impossible to play with one player with a controller and the second one with a keyboard (singleplayer with keyboard works fine though)...
This is weird but I think it comes from the game itself and not Steam.
Then it's definitely thr game. Some games don't support mixing input.
I'm currently trying it out (it has a short trial time after that it costs once 6€) and so far I like it.
