Check if your "soft pull action" is selected on "hair trigger." That can cause you to activate the function twice sometimes in my experience. Changing it to "simple threshold" can remedy that.

Does dark souls require analog triggers?

1.If not i would simply set "trigger analog putput "-> off
2.Set the according action to softpull
3.optional additional action on fullpull (digital click in the triggerbutton)

I think by default soft pull is set to right trigger even if it looks empty.
I don't remeber setting any button on softpull ever and it still would act as right trigger/left trigger or analog off depending on the drop down list.-> trigger is an xinput button/gamepadbutton

But it is different if use KBM settings as in that case you would need to set a button from your keyboard and set it to analog off.-> KBM buttons are digital only , so analog off setting is better in that case.

As a side note:

You should however set full pull as trigger or a different button as it is wise to do so in many use cases.

Imagine you play GTA and drive around in softpull max to drive with full speed and when you push the full pull mechanical button the game might register it as softpull release -> the car would stop without you wanting to do so (it is a rare case but some games might treat going beyond softpull as softpull release).

So setting the full pull to a triggerbutton/keyboardbutton is a good way to avoid that scenario.
It is also advantagious to set a different button on full pull for things like "Turboboost" (rocketleague), tagging enemies with F while zoomed in (Crysis 1,2) , holding breath while zoomed in for some FPS games (shiftbutton ).
