Just asd GW2.exe to your steam library as a non steam game. Then make a profile for it or use the community ones.
Try the 64bit client then. GW2-64.exe
Also, if steam has admin privileges, remove those, same goes for GW2, remove any admin privileges any of the two have.
I've actually set up a Twitch account and a controller overlay so people can see how playing works. I'm going to stream it today I think. I'll update the post if I do.
I totally scrapped console port's setup. It was bad. I really took advantage of button long presses and regular presses as well.
I'm not a big fan of long presses for WoW (maybe it's ok for opening interface panes such as the character pane or skills pane).
I utilize 2 action sets, one for combat, one for out-of-combat (which opens things like character panes, skill tab, etc) for when I'm putzing around town. Right triangle (to the right of the steam button) cycles action sets, left triangle is always escape (these two bindings are consistent among both action sets).
For the combat action set's left touch pad I used double touch or single click activators (I'll explain how I managed this below) to allocate 8 keybinds to the left touchpad without having to use touch menus or long presses (since a double touch is faster than a long press). I put less frequently used spells on the double touch binding. I then used the A/B/X/Y buttons for the other 4 skills (for the 12 on the action bar), left and right bumpers to switch action bar sets, trigger soft pull for left and right mouse, left trigger full pull is ctrl-f1 (keybind I have for first "stance" for stealth). Stick is wasd, with click being my mobility keybind (which I keep consistent across all characters). Right pad click is the extra action button. Left grip is tab (to cycle targets), and right grip is jump.
For the ooc action set, movement keybinds are the same, left grip opens bags, left bumper opens the map/quest log, right bumper is achievements, the left pad and a/b/x/y are various interface panes (character, social, skills, adventure guide, group finder, mounts/pets/heirlooms/etc), and the right pad click opens the keyboard.
Here is how I managed to set up a touch binding and click binding to the same button on the left touch pad. First, I used a double press (you could use a long press, too--you just can't use a regular press) that was interruptible, and set "requires click" to off. For mode shifting I bound left pad click to mode shifting, then in that mode shift I bound the desired keybinds to the shifted setup. This is why you need to use a double touch or a long press (on touch)--it needs to be an interruptible action (double press or long press) otherwise you'll fire both the touch and click binding. Double tap the button and it does the touch binding, then press and click and it will do the mode shifted click binding.
The nice thing about WoW and the Controller is that you can treat the way each class plays with the controller differently.
For example I have the right mouse pad click as my tab target, because i'm melee. If I were to play a ranged class, i'd probably do something weird like make the two grips be Tab-Target and Previous Target.
Glad to see more people are using the controller though. This device, I think, really is the best way to play the game.
I feel like i'm mocking people with mental disabilities now when I use mouse and keyboard... with the way i stare at a screen with my arms outstretched and twitching...
A 10 minute demonstration of how I play
Very handy for grid-like ingame inventory management ...and point'n'click games overall, games like DOTA etc.
