Steam Controller Requires PIN When Pairing to Android Phones

I've tested this controller on 4 different android phones and get this same error on all of them. Controller connects fine to windows through both the dongle and through bluetooth mode.

Have rolled back firmware and updated a few times. Same error.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have not been given an opportunity to input a PIN. The error just pops up when I try to pair with the phones.

There shouldn't be a requirement to use a PIN to connect your Steam Controller to your phone.

Can you confirm that you've bypassed any lock screen PINs or patterns and are on your phone's desktop?

Is this a pin for bluetooth pairing, or a pin to connect the steam link app to steam on your desktop (which you will need to enter on the host PC in order for the steam link app to connect to it)?

Yes, I have bypassedy phone's lockscreen. I even deactivated lock screen security to test it. Same error.

Edit: I should state that I do use Bluetooth with other devices with this phone and they all work just fine except for the steam controller

Bluetooth pairing. I can stream with the link app just fine

Same problem here. Trying to Pair to an android device says invalid pin(even though it never asks or allows input for a pin). Works in both bluetooth mode and dongle mode on Windows PC

Have you guys updated the firmware? Also, make sure to hold y down when pressing the steam button when pairing

I had the same issue with my Android phone, but I found a simple solution.

I could see the "SteamController" in the list of available bluetooth devices, but when I connected to it I would have the error message of "invalid passkey or PIN." What worked for me was restarting my phone then trying the pairing again. It connected without issue then. Hope it works for you all.
