Steam controller no longer working with Battlefield 1
I've just updated BF1, and suddenly it is seen as a macro, so BF1 thinks I'm cheating and won't let me play. I'm now in live chat with EA and hopefully something might happen... :(

. Walk the customer through bypassing the router.
Completely disconnect the router from the modem and computer or console.
Turn off and unplug the modem.
Turn off the computer or console.
Plug the ethernet or LAN cable directly from the modem into your computer or console.
Turn the modem back on.
When lights on the front of the modem begin flashing again, turn your computer or console back on and test the connection.

Please make sure these steps are performed.

none of those steps have anything to do with the controller settings?

Well, you sort of can use "macros" with the SC with stuff like multibutton inputs, and rapid fire.. So unless they just go and change their anti-cheat to not block the SC, you're not really going to be able to use it.

I have the same issue. I love my Steam controller, I am gutted that I can't use it, for the game I spend most of my time playing. I do not believe EA, Origin, or Dice will be of any help. They have done this to combat cheating in game. I hope that Steam can do somthig to help though. If there was a way to configure the controller, that could work without any Macro configuration, then maybe the controller could still be used, without causing any issues to BF1.

I will try a standard game pad config, but I dont think it will work, as the ability within steam to create macros, is still there, even if you dont use it. Only Steam allowing us to disable Macro functionality, would be the only possible fix. The sticking point maybe the track pad, as I think this relies on macros to give track pad feel when using mouse input.

If you find a fix please post it here and I will do the same as well.

This issue will affect many others not using the Steam controller such as gaming mouse or keyboard so I am sure over time someone will find a way to fix this issue.

That support guy/bot seem like he's on his own mind. hat he uck? Looks like you can see it too.

Have you tried desktop config with the game yet? It's a solid workaround for most games that acting out and for all games if you elevate user privileges, f.e. running stuff under admin. At least temporal untill solution is made or found.
