Steam Controller

Steam Controller

I can't remap in Fortnite
I'm using my steam controller on all games, such as uplay games, assassin's creed, far cry etc. but weirdly for Fortnite it can't work. In Fortnite AND Unreal Engine itself the binding is kinda reset (like B for jumping and almost nothing else working).
I've tried using a community profile, remapping evrything from scratch as a K/M but nothing changes in the game.
I launch it from a non steam game shortcut in steam on the epic games launche exe.
Anyone knows why ?

-_-
Thank you for your answer bro ! I absolutely suck at K/M, if I don't find a solution I'll have to say bye Fortnite !
I thought the programs were not able to know if it was not a real K/M in this mode :(

I'll try my old 360 pad but aiming is bad with a joystick and fortnite has lots of controls.
I noticed my steam controller acts differently in the launcher and in the game, maybe I should try to link the game exe to steam, not the launcher, but I can't find it in the epic games folders, and the windows search finds nothing with "fortnite" :/

There are at least 2 vids on youtube from guys who play fortnite with the steam pad and it seems they just added as "non steam game", nothing special so the problem must come from me !

Use desktop config for now. As good as it gets until Epic adds steam overlay support. There where support for steam overlay when I did my video on Fortnite/Steam Controller but it got patched out for some reasons later on.

yeah, kind of strange that it doesn't use the epic launcher config. do as hulkenstrong suggested and configure in desktop. that's the one that will be used for fortnite.

Remapping using desktop config worked for me!

Does GloSC[alia5.github.io] not work with Fortnite?

how you preffer a controller for a shooter is beyong me, but check GloSC, it makes steam controller work even on microsoft store games like Forza

I'll tell you why I played all of Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel with my Steam Controller: Ergonomics

I get RSI in my wrist and numerous aches and pains in my shoulders, back, etc. when I play with a mouse. Playing with my SC allows me to shift the position I'm sitting in more freely, so I can game for longer with a greater amount of comfort.

It's not a handicap at all, since I'm just as good with my SC as I am with KB&M.

SC is pretty good at aiming and moving controls are way better on a pad.

for some games. for others, fast twitchy WASD spamability may be better to change directions instantly without having to travel across the analog stick and have a slight period of delay, especially for games where analog movement is unnecessary or undesired, such as quake 3 or other fast paced shooters where you're pretty much always going to want to travel at full speed
