Select button:
->Show activators
->Hold to repeat (turbo)
->change repeat rate to preferred rate of fire

If you want autofire without holding the button you should set the button to -> toggle ON.

A couple of things. Typically it is either pressing it too fast for the game to recognize it as separate button presses or there is a configuration problem. Try adjusting the repeat rate lower. Some games are kinda picky but others just don't care, sort of depends. If you like, you can post a link to your config here and I can take a quick peek and let you know if anything jumps out at me as being totally wrong. :steammocking:

Hey

could it be because my steam overlay is broken and not working on my final fantasy 5 game on steam

because when i press the home button on my steam controller nothing happends

Theoretically, even if the steam overlay is not opening up it should still work but that might indicate that the config isn't switching properly. Are you using an emulator? If so, which one?

You can actually post a special link that links me directly to the config so I can poke around into the whole thing instead of needing multiple screenshots. Basically, you save the config as a personal config, select that config in the config browser and hit start to "share" it. It will then copy a special link to the clipboard you can just post here. This way I can also investigate and see if there are any specific other settings that might be conflicting. This is the greatly recommended method.

Maybe teh game is forced to see your steam controller as a regular xinput one? That could be very japanese. :)

:) Square Enix, FF game devs, assume, are console specialists. Just guessing that they might have made it to see SC as an XBox controller ignoring the Steam injection(?) I don't own the game, so who knows.
BTW I haven't played FF5, my favorite is FF6 tho - much love, story was really engaging.

my question is, what is the presses per second on that repeat rate and if i open the config file with notepad (.vdf) can i make that repeat rate faster? these seem to be un-answered and couldn't even get an answer whe i did a ticket...
