i took a look at euro truck and it sounds like you've got gyro input as a directional pad instead of joystick move. go ahead and try this...
1. joystick move
2. output axis horizontal
3. dead zone inner all the way down
4. dead zone outer down a few notches to make it more responsive.
5. dead zone shape circle
okay, i just watched your video that's a really good suggestion. i'll have to give it a try.
and I thought : what a brilliant tutorial !
and I did the settings on wheel this morning but it didn't work.
But now I watched it again and compared the settings once again and now I saw my fault.
I had "Keybboard+controller (xbox360 for windows)" in the first line
but in the second line I had also "Controller (xbox360 for windows)" where you have "None"
double input in the Euro truck settings created the mess
works now ! :-)
ty very much both for your detailed answers.
And also my throttle and brakes don't work as before. Only full Power/gas or brake . Cannot brake slightly or accelerate slightly. Just works now like pressing a button.
if steering wheel is messing up your other settings, you may have to go back to gamepad instead of wheel. you'll have to fiddle with the in game sensitivity. i'd recommend turning it all the way up, then go to configure the gyro on your controller. use "relaxed" for stick response. play around with the dead zone outer slider and see if you find something you like.
i don't have time to set up a config now, but i'll try later tonight. if you figure out a sensitivity that feels good let us know.
in game
controller subtype: gamepad, joystick
steering sensitivity: maximum
gyro settings:
joystick move
horizontal only
stick response curve - linear
dead zone shape - circle
dead zone inner - minimum
dead zone outer - three clicks to the right of default
i also have gyro enable button set to right pad touch and gyro button behavior turns gyro off. that way when i look around with the mouse i don't accidentally steer.
hope that helps.
Yes, at the moment I am trying to get the best setting and I guess I choose
"controller subtype:game pad joystick"
(Disadvantage: only recognize left or right when you cross neutral middle)
Like to play with those setting:
"controller subtype:steering wheel "
But I have problem with the sensitivity.
Throttle and brake problem is solved, just set controller throttle in ETS ingame settings to acceleration.
(Advantage : recognize left or right everywhere )
