Sonic Generations w/SC

Issue: Start Sonic Generations with Gamepad + Camera template for the SC and get the following message, "The detected configuration does not match your hardware." So I go into Sonic Generations configuration on the host (while still streaming) and select Xbox360 controller as opposed to keyboard and mouse, save and quit. Try to load game, same result. The configuration utility for this game doesn't seem to save my selection. Or it's not detecting the SC as an XInput device...or something.

Slightly unlreated, but I cannot use the SC to navigate the configuration screen which is why I had to go to the host to do it.

I have tried using a KB/M template with the SC, but I get the same error message. I've also verified the files. No luck so far.

Any ideas?

For the sega PC games of that era, they are known to be horribly bugged when it comes to controls. I got that same message a few times, with an XBOX controller, locally. All I had to do at that time was fully delete the configuration file and automatically it started working again, so I would highly recommend trying that. The other thing? No idea, I don't really stream so good luck there. :P

Didn't work, same error and even when I run the configurator and tell it, "Hey, use a controller," it doesn't seem to save that option. I'm gonna wipe it out and re-install the game, see if that works.

This is the first time I've ever had a problem like this regarding the SC, lol.

Even after wiping the configuration file? That's always fixed for me... Well, sorry, I don't have any more ideas then.

I have no idea what happened but I got it working with the SC in a standard Gamepad + Precision Camera template.

Completely uninstalled Sonic Generations and wiped out every trace of it from my system and game drives.

After re-installing the configurator screen did come up and would only allow me to choose KB/M settings but I left it alone (even though, as I said, the SC is in the gamepad template). The game loaded and everything is working the way it used to. Really weird, but who cares.

That's the same shenanigans those games have done for ages, either way, glad you got it working! :D
