even if it doesn't work, the controller can still do some really cool things. i use it with davinci resolve and can bind an unlimited number of keyboard shortcuts. another big thing is you can set it up to have different mouse speeds for general movement and fine detail work. i dampen mouse movement by holding down the left trigger. you can also set different cursor positions to quickly navigate the screen with a touch of a button.
and if you really want to get crazy, with the use of action sets, you can make the controller change function based on what area of the screen you navigate to or what tool you are using.
You can't set trigger to have pen presure attribute, unfortunately. But, I saw the guy who wrote his own driver that translates XInput Z axis to pen pressure, using his Xbox controller (he is using stylus+xbox pad at the same time, dope stuff). Unfortunately, he is not friend of mine, can't get the driver, don't ask.
Anyway, what's the problem with couch sculpting using Wacom tablet? :D Wacom Radial Menus can cover anything you need from shortcuts. Also, ZBrush custom menus are awesome, just wanted to tell how I love it :P
Once again, steam driver don't allow you to do what you want. You can ask Valve for the feature, it's not a big deal. But I doubt that they gonna make it though.
I'll try it out, but without pressure sensitivity it's not useful for sculpting or drawing, might give it a try with some action sets in silo2.
Nice to hear it's being worked on at least. Sounds like a cheap way to get an airbrush pen!
My wacom tablet is rather large and corded (A3). I've tried it and I can't get comfortable even with my old a4.
