All right.
First of all, Noire and Uni. That "Magical Noirina" incident is what I was talking about before. I wasn't sure if you'd like it or hate it, but like I said I wasn't exactly serious either, it was mostly a teaser of some sort. Glad you liked it after all, it's probably Noire's highlight in the game. Although it seemed a bit too forced to me... :p And like you said, Blanc using blackmail (blancmail?) isn't like her at all. As for Noire's clothes, all I have so far is 3 variations of her Gamicademi uniform plus her Torn Outfit. I seriously doubt the red dress is in there, but her basic one should be, since I unlocked the basic outfits for Vert and the Nep sisters already. As for Uni/BS, I agree to all you're saying about her, battle-wise. Useless, slow, weak. Except one thing, she "only fires twice and stops" probably because she doesn't have enough TEC points. Although I doubt she'll be useful even with max TEC... But the good thing is, what she fails to provide in combat, she makes up for in cutscenes. If you liked Magical Noirina, I'm gonna guess that you are going to like that scene with her and Nepgear even more. I hope?
Regarding Black Sister's SP skills, I don't think she's the only one that suffers this way. In my opinion, it seems that everybody's SP skills are weaker and affect a much shorter range. Tanzerin Trombe for instance is quite sucky as well, it's nothing like the obliterator it was in AU. Same as Famitsu's dive, same as Gear's Slash Wave... they're all toned down a lot. Possibly because the amount of on-screen enemies per quest has been severely decreased as well.
Your tiny "journalists" list misled me. I always saw Dengekiko at #1, Famitsu at #2 and always thought there was a huge gap between them. I didn't notice they were so close in the complete list, so I just now realize that you (dis)like them pretty much the same. :p Though... I also just saw that Famitsu's original costume is in there as well, so I can see your opinion about her declining again if you accidentally look at it... so don't look at it. x_x
I still don't get why you need to use 2 bumpers with your controller... :s It's not like that with the keyboard... I don't want to say something as generic and un-helpful as "maybe your controller is glitching", so instead I'll say... are you sure you didn't mess something up when configuring the keymap? >_>
I reached level 60 with Iris Heart today and I can say that battle-wise, the multiplayer quests are probably more fun (although longer and harder (something Iris Heart likes to hear)) than the story quests. Plenty of bosses and in some maps the monsters are scattered nicely.
As for the blocking and lock-on features. By now, I've figured that blocking is best suited for the mini-bosses (such as Dolems/Opportunes) and the multiplayer bosses, whose attacks are (mostly) slow and easy to see coming. It's a matter of being patient - see it, hold RB, wait for it, block it. If you are patient, it works. I'm not. :p And lock-on is horrible overall, I found that it's only useful when you want to use EXE drives that are so easy to miss, such as Iris Heart's. Although I have no idea how to lock on the enemy you want within a crowd... again, this probably is intended to work mostly against bosses. After you press the button about a thousand times, of course. -_- I thought it was an issue with my keyboard at first, so I'm kinda relieved to know you have the same problem. :p
And as for achievements through the multiplayer quests, the one about all the treasures will probably have you biting on your keyboard controller out of frustration, as they're drops based on luck. Cheats seem to be mandatory for that one, as you might need to kill certain bosses dozens of times... -_- And from what I'm reading, cheats are also mandatory for the 1000k/5000k combo achievements as well...
Also, I verified from guides that Lily Ranks do indeed increase by 1 after every single mission. Maybe you didn't see an increase because it was already maxed?
Going back to the main menu to check the conditions is indeed frustrating as well with these loading times. And the hints about backstage talk aren't helpful at all. At least the ones for alt cuts appear between the "normal" events, so you can easily figure out which cuts have alt scenes and which don't. But Backstage Talk is just titles, so I have no idea how to figure it out without looking at a guide (or replaying the entire story 20 times). Anyway, they are all in Gallery -> Album, marked as "???". The alt cuts appear betwen the "normal" events which are titled "Scene X - Cut X [Pre/Post Battle Event]" up to Scene 12 - Cut 1, and after the "Multiplay Start" you have one more "???" and everything below that until the end of the list is a Backstage Talk event.
As for Scene 4 Cut 5, apparently choosing Uni and Noire is an alternative cut, so you probably saw that first, and then the game showed you the original cut with Gear and Tamsoft. Tabun...
I don't have much to say about the customization. It's nice that we get several accessories and everyone can use them, but like you said, fitting them perfectly is too frustrating. I personally don't have time to waste like that so I dropped it quickly. I'm sorry to hear that they're so bugged in-game. :\ Apparently they work perfectly in their "natural" positions only?
That Ultra Dimension treasure was probably an outfit for Plutia and for Peashy, yeah.
And back to Magical Noirina I see... Well, I guess I was completely wrong about that one. Apparently I can't figure out what you might like or hate about Noire, I just figured you'd be annoyed that Blanc teases and blackmails her like that. :p So, if you liked that, I'll make a wild guess that you'll probably like most of the Backstage Talk events too.
And lastly, I agree about their unfit personalities, that's what I was talking about in the very beginning, starting with Ram sounding too clever and Plutia's reaction. They're all different, but I guess it's to be expected of a spin-off. It's nothing official so the developers had the freedom to alter the personalities as they saw fit during development. But it's true that Blanc never getting red-eyed throughout the entire game just felt wrong. :p Nepgear did change, she's a few pixels shorter and a few pixels wider. If I had the time, I'd overlap her Re;Birth drawing over her MTM one and point out the differences, but that's not happening. And of course noone would dare change Nep-Nep's personality, that's the main charm of the entire franchise you know. :p
So, with all that said, why is every goddess Something Heart when they transform, but Kiseijou Rei remains Kiseijou Rei? She could easily be Silver Heart, I'd like that. That way, we'd have Gold Heart and Platinum Heart to look forward to in future titles, who were probably the goddesses of other nations, during those ancient times when Rei ruled and abused Tari...
Blancmail is a nice one, but a tad too easy, you can do better ;) And I liked the blackmail bit in that same scene where Magical Noirina (gawddd she needs to be playable XD) first 'appeared'. Only after that I didnt like it anymore, it didnt fit Blanc and it didnt fit the scene. In my opinion. It was just mean.
No red dress?? Nooooo - there is red hair though? Though I never use it tbh because it's too bright imo, it almost emits light :P
Maybe I need to improve TEC. I still don't feel like doing that because I want to see how far I can take it, but if it can at least sort of 'redeem' Black Sister's combat style for me, it's worth anything.
And yes, the cutscenes with her I've seen so far were adorable, but only as Uni. I always think they should show the HDD forms way more in every game, in the cutscenes. Is Black Sister in any you've seen (don't want to know where/when, but only if she is, yes or no). And I am quite sure I'll like the Uni+Nepgear scene, I like most of them and I think they have better interactions than Neptune/Noire, but that can be due to me liking Nepgear a lot better than Neptune XD - if it's cute, I can tell you I'll like it right away, 100% certainty. As cuteness is my weakness - seriously, watch Usagi desu ka? - if you think you won't die from a heart attack.
SP attacks may be toned down due to the fact that there are fewer enemies on screen, but they die less easily and they don't seem to walk into a SP attack by themselves anymore. It's annoying that when an enemy is standing 1 cm away from you and you use something like EMB that they don't get hit and instead can attack you right after.
My opinion of Famitsu is not all about her outfit. I think she'll pretty much stay in her same position no matter what. As is the case with Dengekiko. Though I like Dengekiko's AU default outfit quite a bit better.
I tried transforming yesterday with 1 bumper and it worked. Maybe my controller was acting really wonky before? Because it never worked out of at least 4 tries then. Seems fixed now. Hope it stays that way. Maybe it's also due to me switching controllers? I dunno... I thought this controller was my less good one XD
Yeah I won't be locking on much. And probably not blocking much either, as with Uni/Black Sister it's a lot better to stay the heck out of the way now too, which was pretty impossible in AU with those hordes. Guess it's what I'll try next, dunno what the range of their attacks is... Im still used to coming up close with the intention to obliterate - and let's be real, Brave Cannon does not have range.
I dunno what was up with Lily Ranks, most likely I just didnt pay enough attention. Suddenly Noire and Uni were maxed and I felt like it had onlu risen 3 or 4 times. So yeah.. I probably didnt pay much attention after all.
What I like or hate about Noire? I hate nothing? Not about her (I know you did not mean about her herself, I know that) I hate it when she's treated badly without a reason and it gets worse than teasing. When its fitting for the situation and I get a cute response it's okay, usually. But if it goes beyond a cute response and I can tell it really hurts her feelings or something, or if I don't find it fitting at all (again, Blanc second blackmail attempt for example), then I dislike it. Or if it's Anonydeath. But that's my hate for him :P
Maybe I need to pick Nepgear a few more times. She does not strike me as shorter and chubbier, even if just a few pixels. About length tho, according to the app I got, Noire is 154 cm tall. She seems a lot taller if I compare the cast so I wonder how short the candidates and Nep actually are...
The Rei naming does not make sense, I like your idea, though they could easily fit in a pokemon reference again then too with all those colors :P - it would be cool if we could catch a Dogoo or something and train it until it becomes a Huge Metal Dogoo or something XD. Breed it with a Huge Pink Dogoo and you get a stronger companion, etc.. though this is not that sort of game I had fun imagining it :P
Was this too long? Hope not, I havent even played yet....
Ex Multi Blaster is even worse than I thought: it even fails to hit the enemies right up in your face. Only when they're 2 or more steps away, the attack hits. As if the gun is a magic wand conjuring up a blast a few cm away, which it isn't and shouldn't be.
They just HAD to throw in a (short) bashing of Nepgear. Nuff said, didn't like that at all. And right when I was really enjoying their interactions.
BS is even worse than I thought, yes it's possible. I decided to follow your tip and check the TEC. She has the commands light, heavy, light-light and light-heavy. With 1 TEC she gets light-light-light and with a 10(!) she gets light-light-heavy.... And that's it. That's seriously it, for non-aerial attacks. And I hardly use aerial with her because that's even more useless.
And I decided to spend some AP in a balanced way because Brave Cannon was not even killing mere Dogoos anymore...
Well a short list there this time luckily and a bit more good stuff. I was very close to saying I wouldn't complete this game 100% and just completing the story, but... I changed my mind.
So I like their interactions even if they're not always correct. They're fun and cute most of the time. And thanks for not spoiling Blancs snapping, she finally did it. I'm normally no real fan of it but without her snapping and her just blackmailing others it just feels so wrong. So this was nice to see.
Uni and Nepgear both make the cutest zombie sounds. I just saw a scene with Gear and she was so cuteee. If an apocalypse would bring us zombies like that I would have trouble killing them.
I'm learning how to use Noire now better than before. So uni is no longer first in the tag, but noire is (in AU thanks to Black Sister she was 1 and here because Uni herself was improved so much and I still had to get used to Noire). Her heavy is so useful now. And I went experimenting with her SP skills and I found my favorite: shockingly enough not volcano dive, but one that wasn't in AU. A sort of dash tornado hybrid that's really OP compared to all other skills I've seen so far. I just can't hear what it's called. But it's neither Tornado Sword nor Torneraid Sword, while looking much more like an actual Tornado-like attack with her sword. It doesn't make much sense but I love that move. And Black Heart is a thousand times better than BS. She can actually do stuff, shocking isn't it? That the ability to take action in an action game makes it more fun?
Also a half bad half good thing: I found a use for both Black Sister and locking on. But Indeed only against bosses, when not having problems with the camera around the edges. And it's light-dash-light-dash etc so it's weak and slow. But it at least sort of works I guess.... Until HDD runs out and Uni gets killed at once. That wasn't so great.
And something that's a shame, something I'm missing without it being a real problem (let's be honest there are enough of those already): the win poses. There are none. I liked the results screen in AU better and there were poses there. If they wish to speed up the game they should default warnings to yes again instead of no and fix their damn loading screens. Win poses are a lot shorter than that crap.
And finally I think I'll only pick noire and uni until I finish the story and even though I really want to play with Iris and orange, when I unlock them, I'll save those and other characters like Purple Heart for the grind/stuff to do after the story. To be able to at least have some fun with that then. Hopefully.
You NEED to improve TEC, otherwise all characters are clunky and frustrating to use, nobody has a satisfying combo with 0 TEC points. You can still keep HP/ATK/DEF to 0 if you want, although by Scene 7 you'll feel the need to improve those as well.
And this is a proof of how little I cared about the story of MTM. I didn't spoil Blanc's snapping to you, because I didn't even remember that it ever happened. Seriously, even now that you mentioned it, I can't remember when and why she snapped. -_- And as far as I can actually remember, Black Sister isn't in any cutscene. Neither are the other candidates in HDD form, I believe.
And apparently you can't hit an enemy 1cm away from you with Ex Multi Blaster because of how long Black Sister's gun is. When the enemies are so close, they supposedly get under it, or at least that's the only explanation I can give...
Also, what bashing of Nepgear are you referring to? I can't recall that one either... You mean when they wouldn't let her shout "action!" ? That's the only thing that comes to mind.
Noire's new SP skill is indeed good, it's the one I always prefer using, but I can never remember which of the four buttons it is. -_- Famitsu's new move is great as well. Not visual-wise, that's just dumb, but it hits too many enemies and fills up the EXE gauge quickly. It's probably the same for all characters, the developers toned down their old skills in favor of the new ones.
It's true that they make Noire seem tall. But really, 154 is short. And you didn't pay much attention to Nepstation, did you? :p In one Nepstation segment, Plutia and Noire discuss about how Planeptune abolishes the metric system and goes to the Nep system, which is based on the height of their goddess. And that's where they mention that Nep is 146 cm tall.
Speaking of heights, I had this picture bookmarked since months ago, but I don't know how official it is: http://i.imgur.com/DjJpdSU.jpg
Nepgear is taller than Neptune, so maybe she's around 152cm? I can't guess about Rom/Ram though, since their height is pretty inconsistent between main games, spin offs and the anime. Maybe 110cm? But that sounds pretty tiny...
Nothing to comment on your pokemon comment about my Rei-naming comment. :p I have never even touched pokemon in my life, by the time it became popular I was already too old to care. But judging from the anime I watched in the distant past, I doubt I'd like pokemon even as a kid... >_>
And lastly, about that feeling you have, possibly not wanting to continue/finish the game, I have the same feeling about VII. I launched it last night and from the very beginning I knew I wasn't going to like it. I know it's still to early to judge, but I liked nothing so far. The damn game even starts with the phrase "In the past, Gamindustri had been exposed to threats such as the Deity of Sin and the CPU of the ancient nation of Tari...", pretty much saying from the get-go that "Plutia/Rei and everything from Victory is ancient history, you guys better forget about them, it's all new from now on"... -_- And then, that "Shift" period. They spent so many games telling us how the goddesses are immortal and eternal, with both Nepgear and Plutia always telling Neptune that they want to be together forever, and now suddenly there are "shift" periods in which the era of goddesses comes to an end...? To put it simply, I stopped liking what they're doing to the franchise. It feels like a rollercoaster ride, an easy start with Re;Birth 1, a tough ride throughout Re;Birth 2, reaching the absolute perfect peak at Re;Birth 3 and while you're at the top, starting to visualise the future with Plutia's "Let's be together like this foreeeever Nep-chan... phrase that's still so vivid, and then, suddenly, you come crashing down to a whole different thing in the very beginning of VII...
I'm personally not buying the HDN games for the gameplay, I'm buying them for the story which I loved following until the end of Re;Birth 3. But if the story keeps going down this road, I have no reason to keep buying. Nor do I have the luxury of wasting dozens of hours on stories that I don't like.
Not that in-game it's any less awful. Navigating inside dungeons is frustrating as hell, getting aligned to monsters to perform symbol attacks feels harder than swimming with your arms tied to your legs, the voices are once again changed and sounding worse and worse (at some points Nep's voice actress sounds like she's getting bored of doing Nep's character)... The 3D environment of that first ruined city was too blurry to be even remotely likeable... where do I stop? Well, I'll just stop here, I think I made my point. I'll push myself to play the game some more, but everything I've seen so far doesn't interest me in the slightest.
PS: And one more extremely frustrating thing. After 800 hours of being used to the classic controls of the Re;Birth trilogy (in which even now I still sometimes press the wrong buttons and Defend instead of using an item or so), they suddenly decide to fυck it up and change the controls -not entirely- but enough to piss one off. In the menus and in dungeons everything works the same, but in-battle the button that was used for the EXE drives, now it's "Defend"... So either I switch the mapping and start getting confused on the menus, or keep it that way, get used to defending with that button and then start getting confused when I go back to a Re;Birth game... Just what the hell are these people thinking? >_<
Oh with Noire I don't really need the TEC, but I decided to get it anyway - why punish myself with gameplay I may not like for most characters by doing something to limit myself further? So, I spent AP.
Blanc snapped because there was only 1 week left until the deadline and she hadnt written the last scene yet and couldnt get peace and quiet. I dont pay attention to the story itself, but I do to the character interactions in this game.
Same with Nepgear's short bashing, you're right, when she's not allowed to say action. She asks why no one says something when Neptune and Rom want to say 'action', but they do complain when she wants to and the whole cast replies with "it's you. yep, because it's you'. And then they sneak in a Nepgeardam face to top it all off.
Ex Multi Blaster cant hit enemies close to you even if you're human form Uni, with a smaller gun. So it just plain sucks now. It was the SP I used most often with her. Along with Brave Cannon, but EMB also had that glorious voice in HDD form.
I did pay attention to the Nepstations, but I can't remember everything. And I think it may be because I wasnt so interested in Neptune's height at the time? I'm not good at remembering exact numbers; it was my biggest problem with history tests.
Ah... well on one hand I'm surprised what you describe about VII, as it sounds like pure agony. But on the other hand I sort of understand, because I got off on a rough start with it too, as you probably dont remember me saying - but I am pretty sure I did.
The start of the story was indeed confusing for me too. Shift period? What shift period? Are we in a different dimension again? And that Tari CPU has a name, you know!? - I'll be honest, I wasnt a huge fan of the first 1/3 part of the story, but it got a lot better, in my opinion. And I buy the games for the story, cast and gameplay. And all these games have imperfections in every one of these areas, but never has it been as bad as with MTM for me.
I struggled with symbol attacks at first, too, however I do with every new game, so I couldnt blame it on VII. I seriously don't hear what you say about the voice actresses sounding tired of their roles - not in AU, not in MTM, not in VII. Only badquality when it comes to Black Sister in MTM and Noire mostly - but not exclusively - in RB2.
The environments look better on my screen then in any other IF/CH game I have played so far. Strange it doesnt for you. Maybe a setting you need to change? They added a bunch of new settings.
I had to really get used to the new controls at first, too, but I eventually started to like this better. Might be different when I get back to RB game too, but tbh its a small thing to me - especially because these games are designed for controllers and thats what I play them with. I'll bet its worse for you. I'm sorry that that's the case :(
Just a head's up on what annoyed me at the start as well: the changed designs of some characters, I actually didnt like Noire the first dozen or so scenes she was in, but I got used to it and like it now. The sound in a dungeon can sound like a ridiculously loud machine, but it was patched out of my game, so I hope it wont bother you - it overshadowed every sound in that type of dungeon and destroyed my speakers and ears.
Selecting SP attacks was a bit different and very laggy - the lag still hasnt been fixed for most people, I still have it too.
The gameplay was laggy, the cutscenes were laggy, but that has all been fixed for 95% I'd dare to say.
Also, some new things for you were recognisable for me from Fairy Fencer F as they really kind of fused the two games together here mechanic-wise and put some other things on top. Some things you may like, some you may not, but for the most part, I think things work better in this game than ever before.
All I can say is the boring old "keep playing" line. It got better for me, a lot better, it's become my favorite game. It started out rough, while RB3 started out perfect for me, but VII caught up and won that race in my opinion. And I hated RB2 at the start too because I was so confused, I didnt know it was a separate story and I felt like everything they said was incorrect. I grew out to like that game, too.
But VII really is the best in my opinion and I know many others have the same opinion. However, to get to the meat of the game and the better part of the story, you'll have to sit through the first 1/3 of the game. I'm sorry. It's actually the part I also like to replay the least. I hope this does not spoil anything, but now you've experience the start of the game, I just want to tell you what you can expect from here on out. Story, gameplay, environment... it all gets better. I hope you manage to make it to the end and start NG+ and that you'll be able to at least look back on it and say: "Diabor, it indeed got better. I'm glad I kept going." And if not... that'll just be very sad.
One thing about the story that stays suckage, but you already knew about it: no Plutia, no Rei. Just 'That CPU/That CPU from Tari", just like what you saw at the start. My biggest issue, MY BIGGEST issue with the game is that it is supposed to be a sequel to Victory, but it really isnt. It's supposed to be a continuation from that true ending, but it really isnt. Possible spoiler alert? : There isn't even an open portal to the Ultra Dimension, nor do they ever mention it ever existed, or if it ever got closed. It just doesn't feel right. That's why I see this game as Megadimension Neptunia, but not as Megadimension Neptunia Victory II. Heck, to me it's not even Megadimension 7, as I didnt have the luxury to play the first 3 games.
But it got 500% better for me. Honest. I just REALLY hope that'll be the case for you, too.
EDIT: fixed the spoiler tags as I treated them as HTML tags :P
EDIT2: if you really wish to ask me questions about things you know would be spoilers, then go ahead. If you need to be prepared for things, I get that. But I'd advice you to just continue playing and form an opinion on the whole package yourself. I am looking forward to discussing the rest of the game with you... but that won't happen if you don't finish it :( - not that you need to finish it for my sake of course. I just really hope, REALLY hope you'll start to like/love it (eventually), too
After spending barely 3 years in Ultradimension, both Neptune and Plutia were crying when Neptune first attempted to return to her dimension. Plutia even reached a point where she half-passively "boycotted" their attempts to increase shares, just to keep Neptune there for as long as possible. She kept saying how lonely she'll be when Neptune leaves and was brought to tears every time she said so. That's how much she loved her. And by the end of the game, they were practically inseparable. So IF dedicated an entire game to create something so deep and meaningful between those two, just to kick it inside a garbage can in the immediate next game. And why? Just because some stupid kids said Iris Heart was "too much" and IF was "forced" to ditch Plutia's character altogether? Why the hell would IF even listen to people who aren't even mature enough to understand what I've just described in this paragraph? -_- ...So now Plutia seems forgotten/gone (forever?) and we get a Neptune that doesn't even mention/talk/think about her, as if she knows she'll never meet her again. And I'm getting the sour feeling that they're planning to use Uzume as the "fifth" goddess alongside the main four from now on.
To me, it doesn't matter how "cool" the PS4 graphics may look, that might impress a child, not me. And I can't possibly care about the game just because the menus look fancier and the combat system has been simplified a notch or two. That's hardly what matters. And leaving Plutia aside, what's the damn point of introducing all these great characters in the Re;Birth trilogy -like Tekken or 5pb for example- if you never plan to develop them further and just ditch them forever in favor of new ones, that will probably meet the same fate? Looking back, it all feels so meaningless from this point of view.
And they still claim it's a sequel to Victory/Re;Birth3? From what I understand, the ONLY thing that remotely connects this game to Victory is Croire, and that dark power that she carries around and used to corrupt Rei. Let me make a wild guess here, those four giant creatures that are destroying everything are supposed to be the goddesses of Planeptune/Lowee/Leanbox/Lastation from Uzume's dimension, who were corrupted to the core by that dark power? The first one already had the name "Dark Purple", so that's not that wild a guess, actually. I'm already hating the story so it won't make a difference if I hate it a little more, so you can just say yes if that's the case.
In conclusion, I'm getting the feeling that soon I'll be pretty much done with HDN. I just don't feel like following their lame stories anymore, not until they at least honor Plutia's last words from Re;Birth 3. If they created something so deep just to make a joke out of it afterwards, I see no reason to keep supporting the company. And obviously I know they could never give a shιt about one random customer from the other end of the world when they've got hordes of brainless 14-year-olds that would just buy and buy any HDN title that comes out simply because "cool 3d graphics" and "waifus" or whatever. It's obvious they intend to cater to that fanbase, so in the end, what am I even doing here? I'm already having a better time just laying back, closing my eyes and imagining the story as it should be, than keeping them open and playing VII or MTM or GFJkdF or whatever comes next.
My biggest problem with all these games and something Ive mentioned often in the past is that they keep ditching their characters. I want all their characters in all their games. Why? Because I get attached to them and because the characters were introduced for a reason - or at least, they SHOULD have been introduced for a reason. Story-wise. Serie-wise. Not just for separate games.
They scrapped the Oracles, the makers, the ultradimension characters and... people seem fine with it. Well, like you, I'm not, but aside from ranting about it from time to time - mostly to myself - I let it go, as I still do enjoy the games. When. I. See. Them. Separately. Which is not really what I want, but it's all I'll get.
The gameplay has actually not been simplified, it's deeper than before, IMO. At first you only had CP to care about, now you have more things to care about, there are more status things to take note of, etc. And later on, after the part I mentioned, more and more mechanics will introduced, that I for the most part really liked. I hated the map in this game though - thought it was a good idea, but bad execution but that could just be me.
All in all I don't mind if they keep Uzume, because I want them to connect their stories and characters in their next games. And that's futile hope I guess, but it's all I have to connect the series. In my head. Just like what you keep thinking about, just Plutia doesnt play the main role in mine.
I get it if you're done though it would be a shame to see you stop playing it.
Now about MTM, I really dont feel like talking about it, as I thought I had covered everything, so let's just sum it up:
- My opinion of Black Sister has slightly improved.
- Orange Heart was unlocked and het voice has the same quirk as Black Sister's, it seems to be a 'touch' they wanted to add in this game and it didnt play out as I liked.
- During the ending scenes there were more inconsistencies in the story than ever before in such a short amount of time. I got annoyed by that.
- I finally saw the Uni+Nepgear scene and I loved it - until Blanc pulled a Neptune and completely ruined it. These are the reasons why I have come to dislike Neptune so much.
- Their personalities are roller-coaster rides.
- I felt compelled to use Nepgear+Uni in combat from that scene onward (I think im halfway through part 8 now?), aside from 1 fight I used Uzume in to try her out. She feels powerful. And looks cooler throwing punches, just as I expected.
- Nepgear is actually really good compared to AU. I solo'd all scenes with her (as in I did not even have to use Uni, whom was in much higher level). And when I bought her 4th weapon, she did massive damage, about 5x the damage Purple Sister does - as for some weird reason their stats are connected, but weapons are not? Bought PS's second weapon and Nepgear is still stronger, but there's no 3rd or 4th weapon for PS. I even found a use for Mirage Dance and her new skill is indeed very, very good, to kill a horde and fill up the EXE Drive I dont need XD
- PS herself has so much more mobility than Uni though, feeling somewhat the same as in AU, making Nepgear possibly my favorite character I've tried.
Again about that scene: I kinda wish they had finished it and I wish it was canon, but nothing is canon here and they have to mind the audience, because 14-year-olds and you're right about that. But damn I loved it - though it was very unlike Uni and it could never be cannon. At least not like this.
And no Plutia yet, but from what I understand it's not worth it.
And yes, I really understand how stupid it is that none of the games are connected, even if they say 2/3/4 (rb2/rb3/vii) are, with VII even being VICTORY II. Jup... I completely understand as I really hate how this goes and I hate all their introduced characters being reduced to nothing. Still I have fun with the games for what they are - for the most part - but of course you're not me and I understand if that doesnt go for you. Sometimes I ask myself why I still like it so much. As I can still say it's my favorite series, despite there being so many disappointing things. Maybe I'm just used to disappointment in life by now...
Though I disagree with the 'thank you' scene. How can one be turned off by Magical Noirina? That's the best thing that's happened in this game, after the Uni and Nepgear scene :P
Magical Noirina still needs to be playable, I'm just going to repeat it. Kind of a shame there was no costume designed for her for that purpose :S But that's also something I think Ive ♥♥♥♥♥♥ used to by now. Which still doesnt mean I like it.
