As I am Icelandic I have a deep interest in Norse mythology and so I decided to create a short horror game about stopping the end of the world aka ragnarök. you are tasked with doing this by the world serpent which is depicted above by reviving the dead aser god Baldur.

According to völu spá from the prose edda

The twilight of the gods will begin when Loki tricks an aser into murdering the golden child of Odin Baldur. You will take control of a Human witch in Midgard who maybe not so surprisingly wishes to continue on living. on your journey you will encounter other figures within the stories of Norse mythology and some of them may not be so kind.

Message from Lillex

Now that I'm releasing my second game I have had an opportunity to reflect on what development means for me and what I strive to achieve in the future. The first thing I find prudent to mention as many of my peers slap their bellies out of joy as they suck down straight lead from their disposable landfill stuffing vapes when the mere mention of gen AI comes up. As you can probably tell I do not like AI bros, I don't. I really don't. When I made Complex 629 I did not use gen AI in any capacity for any of the development and the same goes for Mount Ymir. I intend to continue not using gen AI for anything and I want to assure anyone who might be interested in me or my studio that I will stay AI free for life!

I will always be on a learning journey in live and especially in development and even tough I love Complex 629 there are many things I've learned since Its release. the first and probably most obvious is development in 3D. My tools of choice have become Blender for modelling, substance painter for texturing and Godot for development. As it stands I foresee these being my main workhorses from now until I find some other art medium I wish to implement into game dev and if any of you have any suggestions or anecdotes about other programs or mediums id be happy to read about them in the comments.

Lastly I want to thank everyone who has show interest in Complex 629 and a special thanks to those of you who bought the game you are the best! When I first got the idea of developing a game I never dreamed that so many of you would like what I could put together. I hope you like what I'm working on here as well!

Unfortunately not for me

The font was so hard to read that I couldn't really understand the tutorials, so I never even got to play :( I wanted to, though! It seemed like a cool game, but unfortunately not being able to read was a dealbreaker for me

The Complex is now larger than before!

Complex 629 hits its all time lowest discount of 25 % in the upcoming Steam Scream 4 Fest from the 27th of October to the 3rd of November. Join the residents of Complex 629 in this festival with this major content update!

Here's what you can expect

Complete overhaul of the final chapter'

Accessing the content is simple as it all takes place in the final chapter. It can be played directly by selecting Chapter 4 on the main menu or access through finishing the game from any other point. Nothing has been removed from the previous experience.

Developing and publishing this game has become the proudest venture I've ever undertaken in my life. To those who have shown support to me so far I am forever grateful to you. I can not convey how happy I am each time anyone shares their opinions of Complex 629. When I read reviews or watch someone play the game I kid you not I lay on my belly kicking my feet while giggling to myself. I have also been contacted directly by players who like my game enough to want to talk to me about it and when I started this process I had not expected that to bring so much joy into my cold cold withered and evil heart.

The future of Lillex studios is simple. I am currently working on a new game that I intend to announce in the near future but I can't say too much about it yet. What I can tell you is that I'm moving engines and making my next project in 3D! How exciting. My first negative review just dropped!

Hi everyone as the title says I just received my first negative review which is a milestone for me since this isn't only the first one for this game but ever since this is my first time developing. I read it over thoroughly and I want to address the issues the player had so that I might be able to make Complex 629 the best version of it self possible

Gameplay issues:

Snow clearing is tedious - To alleviate this issue I have now drastically decreased the density and amount of snow throughout the halls.
Grandpa’s high speed & instant catches - Grandfathers top speed has been decreased so the player can escape into apartments.
Repetitive item-fetching and gameplay - I have not altered the gameplay when it comes to item fetching but manoeuvring through the halls should be more stream lined now since snow has been decreased.
Textures snagging the player - Hitboxes have been made more forgiving to make movement account for a larger margin of error.
Hard-to-read text - text backgrounds has been changed to make everything more readable

Narrative issues:

When it comes to the story and character interactions nothing will change. I understand that the vulgarity and heavy topics might not be for everyone and that is okay. The nature of the storytelling being confusing at times and character dialogue being "pointless" is by design. I will not be changing how the story is told and for those who enjoy it as it I will be adding more content when it comes to character encounters in the future so stay tuned for that!

The final issue is that some dislike how I tag the title as a psychological horror game and not a walking sim. The game will continue to be tagged foremost as a psychological horror as I consider it as such but I have moved the walking sim tag to the second slot on the steam page to avoid confusion upon purchase.

Lillex - This is my first title and full game. I truly appreciate the reception it has gotten so far and I am happy so many people have enjoyed what I have made. I made this post for two reasons though.

The first is that I want to make good content and so I take criticism seriously and as an opportunity to improve my work. I do not hold any malice or dislike towards those who do not like what I make and I ask everyone to do the same. We all want to play good games and I want to be one of the many who can provide that!

The second reason is to keep in contact with you the player! I am so lucky to have even one person playing as this is what I've dreamt of doing for a long time. Community is the core of all gaming and I hope its clear that I am trying my best to produce something that you enjoy!

This wont be the last update to the game as I suspect I will have to make some balance/bug patches in the future but I will be working on a content update that I hope to release in October as a Halloween celebration.
