Namco Bandai's Youtube content ID policy?
Is it alright to upload and Monetize playthroughs of tales of? last thing I want is a future playthrough to be struck down by the content ID bots just wrecking my ♥♥♥♥.

Sony Music Entertainment already did that with a bunch of my star wars playthroughs >_<

Their forums are always spammed by bots. Their admins clean it up every day and then when they sleep, the forums become flooded. It's been like that for a long time now.

I can't speak for Namco Bandai, but as far as I'm aware they've always been pretty friendly towards Let's Players and people using their content to create content. Youtube is full of Let's Plays and showcases of their games that I don't think they've ever taken down.

Namco Bandai seems to be pretty lenient about Youtube and content ID, and IP and copyright and fair use. Then again, most companies don't take action against Let's Play or other content. But Namco Bandai also seem the least among them or least likely among big companies to take issue with them or Let's Players.

YoutTube's ContentID system is a weird thing. I've heard of false positives with it before, and they're REAL hard to combat if your video ends up getting flagged.

I'm also a partner for another network, but I don't upload many videos lately myself. Just not much I want to upload currently..

As ukkosfaith pointed out, there are a crapton of Let's Players on Youtube. One I followed actually did get ContentID'd for something a while back, forgot what it was and it was a pain for him to get around it. I don't remember what game it was on or anything, but it was a long time ago.

I understand the need for Copyright, but it is done completely wrong these days. Since now a piece of work can be copyrighted for the lifespan of the author plus an additional 70 years once said person dies. It is utterly ridiculous. Copyright should go back to when it was 7 years maximum before it goes public domain. That is more than enough time to make back money, and profit from the ideas and such.

What's up with the ridiculous comments about "Making money to play video games"? Are people really that judgmental and childish? Get off your high horse. I sit down sometimes to play some Dark Souls, and I ask myself why I'm not playing this game (That I've played through multiple times already) with an audience?! It seems silly not to start a little youtube channel and experience the game again with other people that love what you love! I'd rather share my hobbies with others rather than constantly play video games by myself in my little dark corner. I'm here because I'm researching this copyright stuff. Interesting stuff! Looks like I'll be turning the volume down!

If it helps, so far I've not had any issue with bamco games and monitization even with the game music on so you should be fine.

I don't think any normal company would have a problem with that... Somebody goes and watches random vids of games - he might like it and buy it - free advert for the game. Same stuff goes for AMVs(it was actually the case with Berseria for me)

You'd be surprised. Nintendo for example will nuke monitized videos in a hurry, as will EA depending on how prevelant the game/franchise is. But yeah, most reasonable companies are all for it, as long as it's not used to make questionable content.
