Japanese Audio + English subtitles? Is it possible?
Since it's anime styled theme, and I don't like dubbed stuff, would it be possible to play this with Japanese voices + English subtitles? I'm sure im not the only one who would like to enjoy it as so.

Would be an instant buy from me.

I noticed the game has Dual audio, but my question is more reagrding is it possible to use that audio and the english subtitles at once? Are the english translations good enough to go with japanese audio? Or will the subtitle settings get disabled as soon as you set audio to japanese?

Since I would imagine they'd disable subtitle settings instantly as you put the audio in japanese if they haven't done the translations between those two languages but instead are using two different sets of narrations. (aka. the consistency in chat wouldn't hold up).

I.e:
- Japanese audio = No subtitles
- English Audio = Subtitles in: English (+ translations from English text to [other languages])

In the above example we would have two different scripts, and thus not being able to get english text for another audio. I'd hate a situation where I have Japanese audio enabled but the subtitles are direct copy from English audio/script instead of a translation from current audio. This would be catastrophic if they use different script and wording for each audio.

edit: Would be awesome to get an official answer for this.

Don't need official answer, that's the whole point of including JPN audio to begin with. The game doesn't have JPN subs, only audio.

People always ask for JPN audio and since Symphonia, they finally deliver (like so many other dev/pub now). Pretty much the only dev dragging its feet now is Atlus with XSEED occasionally.

I dont think they would have added that option. There is a reason why this game is not sold in Japan since it has no japanese text and would only mean you would play this with no text if that were the case

There is no info, because there's no need for it.. You must be new to RPG or something. But fair enough, wait.

He can also check the gameplay demos or something and see if they have it in JP audio

Promotional footage for localized games is always with English audio though, unless they specifically want to show off dual audio support. Not sure if there's such a video.

I like how they say the Eng dub is really nice. I hear that ALL the time, but everytime I wish they'd have offered Japanese. Graces F and Xillia were especially cringe worthy barring a few characters like Alvin for example that genuinely sounded fine IMO.
That's great the Eng only days are finally over, giving people the choice is always the best solution!
Would be even better solution to have both ENG and JP audio as DLC so the game won't force to download either of them. My internet is just fine, but knowing how some crapper places have data caps which would make it really nice thing to do. :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGKuT2o8GDk Think this video answers your question. But on a side note of this you can never actually get a pure word for word from Japanese to English. Many of the words don't exist in the English language and would be very hard to explain subtitles so they change the words so it makes more sense. Also the issue with the grammar. Short version you get Japanese + English subs (Japanese translation) and English dub + English subs (English translation). It's bandai so it's to be expected when they say dual audio that it will be similar to what you get in anime. Though I wouldn't write-off the English dub it does have merits for example when your in battle your going to have to read the subtitles, I would say hearing the English dub in battle would be a bit better, plus it's a good dub from what I've seen.

Yes, it's possible. Just go to the shopping site and look at the available languages and stuff. You'll see Japanese is available as audio, and english, german, french etc. for subtitles or text in general.
