Don't worry about your level so much, it's easy to kill bosses many levels over yourself as long as you have semi-decent gear / play well.

Im not finding this very true, 95% of the bosses can be killed easy that`s a fact, but some like maltran cant, because they have to much dmg that can easily kill ur ai very fast, and thus making hard to kill then in a higher dificult without using itens, unless u willing to stay for like 10mim or more on the same boss kitting afraid of taking a mystic art when all ur ai is dead.

Edit: my gear is horrible, since till now i havent stop to fuse or farm drop itens, have being avoid many normal battles, just quest and sidequests.

I'm not as far as you, yet, but playing on Intense I have found the best way for me to gear up so far is to find a good spot where 3-4 enemies spawn and then quick save, group them into a large dangerous encounter and then Armatize with everyone set to target weakness. Mikleo's seems to be the best bet from my experience due to his constant stagger and range of hit + knock down on enemies as well as his Rain attack (arrow rain or w/e it is spell once weakness is popped just keep spamming this or Up + attack, in most cases). I was fighting level 70+ monsters when I was level 19-21 doing this and finding some ridiculous gear that, nothing since, has been able to pass up. Only down part is you have to do this for a while if you want enough of an item to fuse it. Later on, mass skill stacking seems to be the way to go if you can manage it, but this seems to work for now (stats went from 150-200s to 300-400s focusing mainly on all-round and def/a.def else I could probably break 600 on attack).

Mimic Giants were the fastest way for me to get from 180-200

They are fairy common and were giving 3.5k exp (6k with inn buff).

Since you are only level 55 you will get zombie chests instead of mimic giants, I would assume the same holds true that they give a lot of gold and exp. check out the gald farming guide for chest farming locations.

Lawlben, problem is finding mimic is takes time and gald, since the reward gald from zombie mimic is low, their exp isn`t also that hight, but tnks will give it another try
Mimic Giants rocks

Mimics weren't really that rare, not even kidding when I say sometimes every chest was a mimic.

I just assumed that since the zombie chests were the lower level of the mimic giants there gold / exp proportions would be the same but I guess not.

Even on hexen island the mobs would only give aroun 800-1000 exp per battle and mimics were giving 3-4x that, it was a worthy investment.
