Unnamed Equipment
Can someone clarify to me what unnamed equipment is? In the New Game+ grade shop it says i can carry them over to my new game+ so i'd like to know what i can bring. I'm assuming that unnamed equipments are what i get from sactifying a +10 fused piece of equipment, but i'm not entirely sure.

Not exactly.

There are 17 pieces of "joke" gear spread between Camlann, Artorius' Throne, and Hexen Isle - gear that has only +10 to a stat and never improves, but can be fused with any piece of gear.

When this specific gear is fused to +10 and sanctified, it becomes "unnamed". It's by far the fastest way to boost your double/triple skill chances, if you're into that sort of thing.

The strange question is why you'd want to carry it over. Understanding more about the mechanics of using them to boost the chances of double/triple skills, what's the benefit of carrying them into a New Game+?

The boosted chances persist multiple playthroughs anyway, and since you need to have them equipped to bring them into a New Game+ you'll be sacrificing something else, no? If that's the case, why not sanctify, +99 and offer them before the NG+ and then retain a better piece of gear?

I haven't tested this out, but I believe you can carry over two copies this way - by carrying them over via grade shop AND beating your mirror images to get your equipped gear.

In that manner, you could in theory max out all 50 skills at the end of your second playthrough (you'd have 51 total pieces of unnamed gear that way).

I'll write a guide if it works :)

Pretty sure it doesn't. The whole point of using unnamed gear is for making it easy to get a piece of gear that has your desired combination of skills, and you start NG+ with them in your inventory. A couple well designed unnamed equips can make it far easier to defeat the clones earlier in the game to get the rest of your gear.

Isn't Goilveig's idea that if you use both the equipment carryover and the Unnamed carryover, the game gives you them twice, once at the start and once upon defeating those clones?

That's his idea, yeah. It'd be ridiculous if that were the case, and we would definitely know already.

S'what I thought XD

I have concluded that using unnamed equipment is a must when wanting perfect skill set's. Using normal equipment is better for raw stats but you are badly hindered on optimising skills. (which I think is deliberate by the dev's).

On my current playthru I will be blessing and offering more unnamed to get x2 buffs on more skills (hopefully enough for my needs), and then on my 3rd playthru with most fights done on chaos will work on farming 3x skills. On one of these 2 playthrus I am likely going to spend a lot of time herb farming so I have the stat's to survive using unnamed equipment on everyone.

I can say I do not regret at all using unnamed on mikleo, the gains from that is easily worth the loss of stats of not using a normal staff.

bad news, unnamed still has to be equipped when using the grade shop option. So e.g. you cannot carry 2 unnamed staff's over since mikleo can only equip one at a time.

This idea from the dev's where you can only keep equipped stuff is pretty bad, as it generally means you have to stick to optimising one set of gear only for each character, so cannot have different bits of gear to cater for different enemies, unless you prepared to do the entire farm and build process anew on every playthru.

I think for that setup alone we should just write this off as an unworkable system, finish what we want to in the game and drop it. It's certainly not a building experience akin to Vesperia.

Yeah a kickass mod would be to make everything carry over whether equipped or not (but still need grade shop option for unnamed).

Also i am going to try a trick later if I got time.

I will fuse a x2 ability onto a unblessed joke weapon.
Then I will bless that weapon to see if 2x changes to 3x. Dont think anyone has tried that yet.
