INTENSE difficulty boss wasn't meant or suitable for the first playthrough..... I'm guessing most of the boss you metioned above are more suitable to battle if you are 100 LV or above (INTENSE). Dark turtlez was very hard for me because his attack is too high. I have to play it on simple when I was around 84-87 LV, which is still a bit hard too.

Eizen fight and the sisters you could propably do at around level 80 depending on your gear level doenst really matter but dark turtlez is really unforgiving with his high attack stats so he tends to 1 shot everyone but the player character as soon as they revive.

Dark Turtlez is still more beatable instead of Angel imo... Her non elemental reflect is really getting me frustrated...

I beat angel quite easily by comboing her with both characters in arma before i went to fight aizen key of the angel fight is to not fight her without fusing since otherwise you will just kill yourself.

If you want to cheese the Angel you should armatize with mikleo and spam martial arte + Up. It's a species weakness and it staggers the boss constantly.

strangely that angel only chase sorey (armatize with mikleo), so it's very easy to kill her.

I did beat dark angelz on first playthru but he was a nasty boss, very fast, doesnt stop to recharge SC etc.

I usually drop to moderate or normal on boss's due to the exp drop on intense.

You need to learn his attacks, evade when he attacks then immediatly counter.

I had to change the difficulty half way through, not because it was hard, but rather the amount of grade a was losing as a result of the AI dying 23+ times during boss fights.

they balanced the game wrong for boss attack stats, if you check the data, most late game boss's have attack in the high 1000s, which means even with maxed out defense stats their hits are gonna hurt, I think thats way too high (this is on moderate). The damage done in this game by boss's on moderate is similar to uknown on vesperia.

It's mostly a matter of gear though, only that and herbs that raise your stats help. Grinding levels didn't help me much. Try instead to grind gear in Loghrin for example, setting Normin with good abilities, and on Hard or more you should get something good.
That aside, for these bosses I was sure to set everyone on attack from a distance and watch HP, I used Edna or Mikleo mainly to check manage their HP and their suicidal tendencies. I had a lot of problems with the Dark Turtlez and the Phoenix even on Hard, but as someone said running around with a low HP characters helps, enemies tend to target them mostly.

Levels do not mean anything really. You can use unnamed gears with gald style BA on (Gald Style BA reduces/removes stat increases from leveling) and get 0 stat increases upon leveling. How stats increase are by herbs, which are permanent, and by what your total stats are upon leveling up, which are only temporary for that playthrough. Your stats cap at 2000, but you can continue to increase your base stats..until they reach 2000. Your base stats will increase by more per level if your base+equipment stats are high.

I will point out that ONLY your stat increases from herbs will actually carry over to NG+, so no point in leveling up to 200 before NG+ or worrying about getting the E-union skill for +1 stat point per level. None of those carry over.

Also, the BEST and I mean BEST place to grind for levels is Mimic Giant farming...so I guess its not really a place. You can only fight them if you are level 76+ and you encounter them by simply opening chests. Their is a good gald farming method involving them, which may be of some interest to you. You should get about 1 level per encounter until you reach lvl 100 or so.

I dont entirely agree.

First more stats then people have been suggesing come from levelling up, the impression I got before playing the game that most stats come from equipment but my experience has been very different, on a ng+ where you level up faster and have higher base stats due to herbs the difference will be even more pronounced.

Also each time sorey levels up he gains an AP point, the AP points do get carried over, on a ng+ he wont gain more AP points until he exceeds the level he reached previously tho.

Not to mention it seems the main source of progressing titles as well and arte learning.

Of course eventually if you farm enough herbs you might end up maxing your stats even at level 1 in which case levelling up has less relevance but it will take some time to reach that point.
