Also there is a battle action you can get that lets your guard act sort of like a taunt. Or at least it implies it does, I haven't used it myself.
As far as this one goes, the enemies in this entry,at least to me, seem to hit a lot harder than in the previous games, making dodging and guarding much more important, and the AI really makes no effort to do so. Also Rose will at times randomly un-armatize for no apparent reaon.
Never played a 3d one that the ai isnt on a sucide streak.
2d ones are easier since its easier to block enemies from butchering them.
Boss tip : Put your partner in defense mode, and attack the boss by yourselve, time your attacks to counter the boss when he try (and he will) to attack your allies.
Or grind stuff and do some nice fuse to overpower the boss and roll on him with Rambo AI.
that's what i try to do most of the time, and usually end up running in circles after the boss because rose is running away lol oh and dont get me started on happily killing the boss only to notice you're grade sucks because rose managed to kill the other seraphs lol
-I don't care about boss grades, grades are only mades on random encouters that's all, AI not good enough to do good grades on boss, so just go through them and continue ^^
the only way to get good grades on bosses it seems is to over level over fuse and steam role them <_<
Yeah the recent Xillia/2 had way better AI than this... it's weird and disappointing that being a Tales game they're not taking algorithms from past games and improving on it; Zestiria's AI is just downright horrendous.
I tried putting Sorey on auto and assigned him to attack the nearest enemy, it came off like a mixed bag; occasionally he'll target enemies far away, and sometimes he'll just prance up and down the battlefield between targets and not do anything, :3
