Union Skills, sooooo confused

If anyone has a guide or link to a guide to make this a little easier to understand and work with would be much appreciated. So far this system seems like a HUGE hassle.

It may be a bit confusing as some of the names are are different since it was made using the Japanes version. Also there are a couple of skits in Mariland (after cleansing the town and then doing the following dungeon) that give a overview of it.

yeah the skits weren't much help, complex as hell, I like the game, storyline and combat system, but this equipment skill system is meh

I love the system, but I'm the type who likes tinkering with things to see what I can do. It isn't for everyone, but it is for me. I was a bit lost too until I read that guide, the Prima Guide and saw the skits in game. It has started to slowly make sense, and I've come to the realization I'm in Theroycrafting and MinMaxing heaven!
