How do you use Mystic artes?

Please tell me what the buttons I need to press actually do, not what they are. "Press (Button x)+(Button y)" isn't going to help due to circumstances that don't really need to be explained.

Just tell me "press the button that does this and the button that does that" please.

Martial Arte Button + Chain Blast Button while hitting an enemy .. (needs to be Staggered)

There is a tutorial in a certain battle as well, and I saw mystic artes on the characters other than the protagonist before that, so they might be locked until that tutorial.

I was stuck on that tutorial because the buttons weren't showing up. it was telling me to "press +" there is no +. It took me a minuet to realize it was actually telling me "Use (blank) + (Blank)".

Its all solved now.
