Error Direct X9.0c or later
Hi all,

When I run the game on my 860m it says I have to use Direct X 9.0C and doesn t launch.

If I use my integrated card it s launching but unplayable because too weak. Anyway I would like to play with my 860m.

The weird thing is that I have Direct X 11. I checked of course even if I was sure. The other weird thing is that the game understand Direct X is fine when launched on my integrated car but not with my 860m.

Thanks for whoever can help me.

DX11 isn't the same thing. If game requires specific DX9 files then DX11 is irrelevant.

Do you have Nvidia drivers installed? Maybe that's why you can't use 860m because it doesn't detect it as D3D device.

DirectX9 isn't installed by default and is separately installed from DX10+:

Steam\SteamApps\common\Tales of Zestiria\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe

This is common problem in lot of game (until now (even GTA V has same issue beside naming and .net distributable)). You need to install/reinstall directX 9C (all of them, not just a fix for one month (take from microsoft website)).

Having DirectX 11 does not guarantee you can run DirectX9 game/software.

Thx.

When I try to install it says it only works for xp, 2003, etc...

And when I go to june 2010 and launch setup direct X it s installing and then it says fine we installed everything. But the problem s not fixed.

Something doesn't seem right with your windows configuration, I don't know how to fix it other than reinstalling windows. To run DX9 games, all you need is windows installed and Jun2010 DX9.0c.

Try updating your Intel HD drivers from here: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu

Thx again guys.

Do you think that if I upgrade to win 10 it could, possibly, maybe, hypothetically^^ solve the problem? (I m win 8.1 right now)
Playing on 8.1 and i didnt encounter this problem. all i can says is you need to update something.

I'm certain it will because it a reinstall of windows.

Thx again all. I put win 10 right now.

I ll come back to tell you even if doesn t work. I think installing from 8.1 is less than an jour and a half.

Just try reinstalling the game before. But I think as you stated all, the problem is not from the game but probably from Direct X and my configuration.

Oh Maybe that could help:

In dxdiag, Direct X fonctionality, Direct3D is unavailaible. But it is the same with the integrated card so....

Thx.
