if we count that some achievements require NG+, and if you don't hury and stuff, i'm sure u can get around 60-100h or more, so yeah, nice try

who are saying this ? i heard if you want to complete most of the things the game has to offer, and i am NOT counting new game+, it takes around 100 hours to complete.

When I first finished Tales of Symphonia it took me about 35ish hours. I think 30 hours isn't that short but Vesperia and Abyss took me 50-60 hours. It all depends on how much you explore and talk to people etc. With NG+ you can get some more fun out of the game aswell. And then there are achievements for those who care which will surely increase the time spent in the game.

Low sample size, but what it tells us is that the game is
- 31h with a rushed run with no extras
- 37h with a leisure run with no extras
- 44h with a rushed run with extras
- 50h with a leisure run with extras
- One completionist reported 250h+ to complete every nooks and crannies in the game

Nah if you do so you're going for ~7hours. Since World Records of the Japanese Version on PS3 is 6:23h and 13 seconds.

I'm guessing 60 hours no extras... and 100+ with extras (during first playthrough). Double both counts if a NG+ is on the cards/you feel like replaying on a new difficulty/you have 2 different playthroughs on both ENG and JP voice tracks:t0kurasame:

Conservative speculation of course

im yet to see any tales of which is shorter than 50-60 hours.

People play games at different paces and have different levels of completion.

For example, How Long to Beat has Abyss at 100 hours for completionist, yet it took me 300+. Very bad example, because I played it almost 8 years ago but w/e.

Or Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a completionist time of 70 hours, yet I managed to do everything in 50 (All Achievements at least).

YMMV with these things.

nobody counts replaying the game as the games length

if u unlock news stuff with NG, then yes, u do? after all, i count time for maxing everything so take it under opinion here too

Just take your time and enjoy. You will see how long it takes you.Unless you wanna look at the timer every hour lol
Steel Oct 17, 2015 @ 9:46am
The obsession with gameplay length is kind of ridiculous, sometimes I wonder if people somehow get more than 24 hours a day and I'm missing out as a 24 hour/day mortal pleb.

I mean you have devs now saying their games are 400 hours long, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at what point does this even stop? Steam statistics show most people don't even finish the games they play, let alone reach the halfway point, and yet EVERYONE complains when a game isn't hundreds of hours long.

Nope. When people say game length, they're talking about how long the game is. Not how long it would take you to beat the game several times.

For this game, theres about 40-45 hours of content. Replaying it multiple times doesn't mean theres now 100+ hours of content... its still the same amount of content. Saying a game is 100+ hours just because you can unlock some new game code or ending by replaying it is artificial length and not something anyone but fanboys would use to argue the length.

The only time I could see adding replays to the game length is if they branch so early as to make a completely different game experience. For example, there are many visual novels that branch very early and tell a very different story if you pick a different path.
