https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_Zestiria#Reception We'll have to wait for the first impressions from the launch on consoles on friday..
I don't know too much about it because spoilers, but when the game came out in Japan, Alisha was hyped to be a major character in Japanese game publications, she leaves/is removed from the main party early on or about halfway through the game, and a lot of fans took umbrage.
What you see on Amazon.jp is people review-bombing the game, not unlike people who review-bomb games on Steam or other stores.
However, complaints about the storyline I would take with a grain of salt. Consider the fact that few seem able to completely agree on whether any Tales game is the best or worst of the series, and it's pretty obvious it's going to come down to your own personal preference. You're just going to have to form your own opinions on that one and ignore everyone else.
The same can be said about the disappointments over someone's favorite character not being involved in the story enough. It seems silly to give the game a bad review over such a trivial complaint. That's like someone writing off (enter popular TV show here) because (enter favored character here) was written out of the story. Author your own games if it bothers you that much. :P
I read about this too. As the huge wave of bad reviews about alisha hit the net BN made the alisha DLC. and there was article that BN noted the bad Alisha reviews in western release. Hence it now comes free with most releases/editions
From what I heard Alisha leaving early on was indeed the cause of all the negativity around the game. As a side note, it would have been cool to play as a Spear user.
First off i played with jude.....it was kinda fun..but he was a fist user......so.....
then when i played with Milla...it was just amazing...judes artes are nothing compared to her....especillay her spirit artes and advanced artes plus the linked artes...made me felt like i shudve skipped out on jude..for my first playthrough....
lets just say from my ps3 experience..those reviews are mostly beacuse of the midgame events involving Alisha and to a small extent Rose. and maybe Mikleo.....But its nothing major...overall is a really good game to play....
That Obviously wudve been fixed...
To this day I've never played as Jude and probably never will. "Do you want to play as a boring medical student or the mysterious woman accompanied by 4 spirits?" well bye bye doctor! lol
I briefly tested how he plays and there was indeed no comparison between the 2.
Does Sorey play like a typical Tales sword user or more the magic type like Milla, Kratos etc ?
Except it hasn't. Unless the PC port has a better combat camera than the PS4 version, the problem is still there. The gameplay videos released so far show how janky the camera can get in some areas. Corridors and corners seem like the worst of it, though.
Fusion adds a lot of variety...lets just keep it at that and hes somewhat of a mixture between asbel from graces f and milla from xillia...

this is the ps4/pc gameplay video by ign..there are corridor fights..i dont see any issues with the camera here?
