Report a translation problem
You can't really do anything until you get control again (just like when Rose etc execute their mysic arte). It is slightly annoying if you're about to do something then one of the others interrupts, and their mystic arte doesn't finish the battle.
(it can be fixed by controlling everyone myself, but I'm no good as a micro-manager)
Edit: The battle skill @Bobmonkey07 mentioned (Split Guard) can apparently halve the
damage from a mystic arte by pressing X the moment it hits.
It says it "works for each hit", whatever that means.
I'm guessing that it means that you have to press X at the moment of each hit to halve the damage from that hit.

I mean, some of those can do lots and lots of hits in a few seconds.
I think one would be better off using an All-divide bottle, so there's a chance of surviving
a full-on mystic arte..unless the player has excellent timing. Both achieves the same, although
the bottle probably applies to your own party too. Combining them probably works too.
