Alisha and Sorey (spoilers)
I've read online in different places people say later on in the game the story downplays alisha's relationship with sorey. I really don't see it however, I think sorey shows a lot of interest and concern for alisha even later in the game. When they are reunited on the bridge sorey and her greet each other as if they were gf and bf. Also initially there was a lot of affection shown between the 2 even at the start. Hell there's one skit where they are on the verge of passion. And I know the group jokes about sorey and rose as husband and wife, but that's just what it is awkward jokes. I don't think sorey showed much interest in rose as anything but a friend and trusted ally. Wouldn't say rose had feelings for dezel either as she didn't even know the dude really. Maybe he had feelings for her however. But I actually think rose shows the most affections to mikleo. Seriously she tease flirts with mikleo constantly and not in a biting way like edna. Even when she first sees the seraphim and her resonance comes out, mikleos the first seraph she see's and he kind of helps her realize her true power with his pep talk. He also was probably the spark that made her not so afraid of seraph. Imo at least sorey and alisha still seem to be romantically linked even at the end. He's constantly thinking about alisha and is always concerned for her. I think that is the one reason also why it was hard for alisha to break off early on. She knew she had duties, she knew she had no real place with them as she had no resonance with the seraph. But she still longed to be in their group and it took some willpower for her to finally decide to break off. The seraphs even say, get a room you two at that point.

I really don't think sorey and alishas relationship was downplayed, I just think the quest took priorities that didn't fit with alisha and that it wasn't just about her and sorey, the seraph were a part of it as well. A big part actually, and their goals and soreys destiny just didn't mesh with alisha's presence. But I don't think that took away from sorey and her relationship. I could see them both getting married and sorey being king of highland honestly.

In every franchise, people tried to ship couples for countless time. In the end, this is the matter that depend on a personal liking, so choose what you believe is the best and it is your opinion.
To my opinion, Sorey would still stay true to every one words, a "Ruins nerd", If he still alive in the end he won't be interest in a relationship other then friends for at least a decade then he will most likely mature from that and settle down with some one, anyone in the world.

But realisticly, Alisha the politician trying to run an entire kingdom with "stain hands" would have a lower possibility to be the one than Rose, the capitalist girl trying to open a business

I don't really think the political agendas matter when it comes to feelings. Maybe sorey wouldn't want to be king, but I just see more affection romantically shown to alisha than rose, rose always acts like the sergei confusion/lie with the married angle is awkward and always denies the seraphs jokes about them being a cute couple. But alisha never even tried to deny the links with her and sorey.

Also I'm not sure that tales romantic links are always so open ended. You can tell yuri likes estelle more than judith, you can tell that collete and lloyd are pretty much linked from the start.

Cool, would have abit difference point of view at the Rose situation but then again, my point double down at it depend on anyone personal liking. It was made open ended anyway.

btw, you play the game alot can you answer my post please, thanks.

It’s probably my 2nd fav tales after symphonia. Just a lot of nice relaxed rpg combat and exploration and the cast appeals to me. There is some dark stuff as any rpg needs villains but for the most part the games pretty upbeat and funny. They don’t dwell on everything being bad or edgy like a lot of games which is refreshing. Thing I like about jrpgs over western games a lot of the time is the romance and relationships angle. Gaming is almost devoid of this especially in the west were females are often sniper babes or axe wielding savages. Final Fantasy 8 was one of my fav ffs just for this very reason. It was a gaming valentine and some rpgs since have tried to tap into this such as FF10 and yuna/tidus. But for the most part games act more like they want sleezy sexuality more than an actual loving buildup to a romantic meaningful relationship. Good example is zelos and to a lesser extent zaveid in this. They pretty much fit the trope of anime sexuality with no meaning behind it. Why I think sorey really is more than a ruin nerd as you put it. Sorey just isn’t a creep, he shows quite a lot of romantic interest in Alisha’s feelings imo he’s just to young to jump into it atm. Squall in ff8 was like that as well. When you think about it, love, romance, relationships lose all meaning if there is no meaningful buildup, it’s just what it is selling pointless sexuality. I really wish they’d tap more into the themes of actual romance that they use to have in jrpgs.
